I bought a system in 2001 from Great Western Security in my new home in mercer island i was quite pleased even when the system went from free to $1750 i thought the sales person was very professional as was the installer. I along the way even chatted with the owner Harry when i was moving and needed a system move. As luck would have it my wife and i are trying to down size after kids have all moved on and we purchased a smaller home and were in the market again for a system. I got on the computer and phone book i guess the real Great Western that had the big office in Lynnwood and Everett the owner retired. I did not know this when i came across a Great Western Security in Bellingham i called and talked to the owner nice guy very helpful but also informed me that it would be the next week before someone could come down. I also found a Great Western in Seattle owned by Troy Finlayson ok i was confused as these were two different companies so it seemed thta there was a Northern Great Western and a Southern one. I was totally confused then and called the Northern one again very professional office girl answered the phone and directed me to the owner who was there he explained that he wasnt sure about the southern Great Western and had not heard of them and that the Northern one was a spinoff of the original Great Western and he was friends with the former owner and had promission to use the name. He also explained that he pretty much knew the names of all companies and had never heard of this one but there were alot of smaller companies down south. He told me that ADT or Monotronics were pretty much the best. Well again as luck would have it i ended up calling the southern Great Western person and this is where i met Troy Finlayson WOW how is this person working in the security business in my opinion what a joke and over $1200 for 5 doors 7 windows 1 motion keypad and 2 remotes about $279 on ebay this guy is the worst i have met in the security business and yes i waited the week and had the North great western come down $379 for the same thing monotoring was the same. Also i got a good chuckle when i looked up Troy he works out of a small apartment on Capital Hill he calls his office.........Go figure......What a JOKE
