SEO Reputation Management at its best!

I made contact with this company last night 2/13/08 and received an email for an appointment the next day. This didn't seem unusual, until I read through the web site and was unable to capture clearly what they do. I did some research and found they are a part of DS MAX & Smart Circle a multi-level marketer operating everywhere under different names. DS MAX may be the parent or is part of or a name change from Marketing FX that was on all popular job search websites in Chicago, less than six months ago. I know because they were simply everywhere web wise. I'm pretty sure that Victory Promotions is another name to watch out for. I'm not going for the interview. I'm going to call the contact person and tell them it's unfair to mislead people into believing they are a bon fide advertising agency, accept resumes and stage appointments. Doing research helps! I just wanted to let people know about and to be aware of these kinds of companies.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Rebuttal to: "What is the definition..."

AUTHOR: Chicago, Il - (U.S.A.)

The clients to Cydcor have a fairly secretive relationship with one another. The reps are in the field with badges that say: At&t, Verizon, or Quill. The reps never reveal that they work for a small outsourced sales company.

Also, of COURSE the clients (At&t, Quill, etc.) love this business model and so does Cydcor. They can turn and burn employees without paying them anything from pocket. The reps do not get paid until they produce money for the client.

For example, when I worked for GLM, Inc. we were told we produced an average of $1,000/new customer for At&t, but only got a commission around $80 with no residuals.

If you, the author of "What is the Definition...," is part of one of the straight commission-based outsourced sales companies, ie. Cycdor, etc. you do not invest anything into your employees. So thank you for the drawn out poetic response, but let's face the facts.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

What Are Defamation, Libel and Slander?

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

Generally speaking, defamation is the issuance of a false statement about another person, which causes that person to suffer harm. Slander involves the making of defamatory statements by a transitory (non-fixed) representation, usually an oral (spoken) representation. Libel involves the making of defamatory statements in a printed or fixed medium, such as a magazine or newspaper.

Typically, the elements of a cause of action for defamation include:

1. A false and defamatory statement concerning another;
2. The unprivileged publication of the statement to a third party (that is, somebody other than the person defamed by the statement);
3. If the defamatory matter is of public concern, fault amounting at least to negligence on the part of the publisher; and
4. Damage to the plaintiff.

In the context of defamation law, a statement is "published" when it is made to the third party. That term does not mean that the statement has to be in print.

Damages are typically to the reputation of the plaintiff, but depending upon the laws of the jurisdiction it may be enough to establish mental anguish.

Most jurisdictions also recognize "per se" defamation, where the allegations are presumed to cause damage to the plaintiff. Typically, the following may constitute defamation per se Attacks on a person's professional character or standing.

This is a message to all people that are willing to put their name out on the line to bad mouth a company. Considering that most of the people that put their "name" on these complaints are actually being deceitful and lying about their own identity since they don't use their actual name.

All of the companies listed in this blog are independent from each other. DS-Maxx is NOT affiliated with any of them. The research found on these companies is as accurate as most information you get on the internet. There is a reason why your college professors did not allow your references to come from there. :)

This is an opinion site ONLY! Be careful of spreading the wrong information. Most of the people reporting any complaints never even worked for the company or did for a short period of time.

These companies have an extensive interview process in order to avoid hiring someone that is not a fit. Also, they are growing companies, that have never had layoffs. This means that if someone submits a resume, they will actually contact you as soon as they can. The assumption is that if a candidate submits a resume, they are looking for a job to make money. The quicker they can get in for an interview, the quicker they can make money. Somehow, in todays negative world, this is considered desperate or unprofessional.

The words "Sales and Marketing" are on every job posting. "Advertising Agency" never appears anywhere on any posting. The truth is that most people don't even read the body of the posting, they just send their resume to 100 companies and hope for a hit.

The bottom line is that people want to complain. They want to find a reason not to take a risk because if they fail, they will have no one to blame. The world is a scary place but don't make it scarier by convincing yourself that everyone is out to get you.

Last note: The clients that are represented by these companies would not put their name and reputation out on the line if they were not legitimate.
