I would probably have to start at the beginning to make my story clear. I moved into theVill Green House Apartment homes in February, 2011. In 2012 I was not going to sign a new lease with the property due to all the crime activity that had transpired in the 1st year that we lived there. The lady that was the property manager, Terry Brooks actually sat down with me and explained that she was trying to clean up the property and that she would like me to give them another chance.
At that point I felt comfortable with her as she is a very nice and fair lady, so I signed another lease. In August of 2012 a new property management company, Riverstone Residential Group took over the property due to the complex being bought out by another individual. The New Manager Kelly never spoke to any of us at all when we first came in to the office after the property was sold. The new assistant manager at that time was Roxanna, Who I came to like alot.
But out of no where they let her go and hired a new Assistant manager Ellana, and I really do not like her. Because what she says and what she does are two entirely different things. Since Ellana and Kelly have taken over this property , my life became a living hell of sorts. I had sent Roxanna (who was the asst manager at the time) my 60 day required notice that I would not be renewing my lease due to all the illegal activity on the property.
When I began putting out applications for a new place to live, Kelly and Ellana were giving me bad rental history even though I completed my lease entirely and had put my 60 day notice in as required by my lease. The lease ended in January 31, 2013. At that time I did not owe the property any money at all. Because I could not get approved on something by the end of January, I notified these two ladies that I would be needing to stay until the end of February 2013.
I had decided not to pay my rent at that time until the other rental applications had come back because we were getting turned down from every realtor who called that office. And we were informed by my realtor that had they not given the rental reference that they did, that I would have been approved. One February 10th I was still waiting on 2 applications to see what was going to happen and Ellana came by my house that evening around 5:00 or so and asked when I would be paying the rent and I told her "I will bring it in the office as soon as I get my reference back and approved".
She said "Ok I just needed to know". The next day I recieved a call from the realtors that I was waiting on saying that I had been declined again due to the reference that Greenhouse villas was providing also saying that they told them that there was an eviction is progress. I called Ellana and asked her why she did not notify me the day before that she had filed eviction. She told me that "I do not have to give you notice".
I sent Kelly, the apartment manager an email asking her why they did that and she said that Ellana came by to "let the residents know if they did not pay their rent that an eviction WOULD be filed". However Ellana actually filed on me the day morning that the she came by and never said a word about it when she knocked on the door. At this point I had to scramble around to find us a place to move and quickly so I set that problem aside for the time being. However on Feb. 19th I was admitted into the hospital with Pneumonia.
I was there for 5 days and was still very sick when I got home which made it impossible for me to help with any of the moving arrangements. On February 26, 2013 There was a eviction notice from the court left on the door- However I had already left the apartment so that the people moving us could get everything out and was not given the notice in time for me to go to court to dispute it. The court sent me a notice that I owed the property 24 or 25 hundred at that point and need to make payments to the court regarding the balance- However I got a bill in the mail from the billing department forGr Riverstone Residential Group for over 3500.00.
Saying that the keys were not returned, the place was not clean and that there was a missing washer and dryer that they were charging us along with other ridicules charges. Which was false as we have video of the apartment being cleaned and painted and that we returned all keys in the night slot box. Which meant that even though we did what we were supposed to do as residents of this property such as putting in notice, returning the keys and cleaning the apartment, which also included filing in nail holes ect..
That they have now ruined my credit , were charging me for living in the apartment past February 28th and they said it had to be completely painted, and for a missing washer and dryer when they did not even notify us of the washer and dryer until Mid march ( which I still have the voicemail). I have documentation of every claim that I am claiming but am not sure exactly what to do regarding this property and need to be able to fight them because what they are doing is wrong and dishonest.
