Greentree Servicing LLC Have been given the run around in trying to get deferment for 2 months Salisbury, North Carolina

We have been a client of Greentree Servicing since June of 1994, and have paid our account as agreed.  In March of 2009, my husband was diagnosed with a terminal disease, and was taken out of work.  I started to contact my creditors, requesting
a 2 month deferment, only until his disability and social security would start coming in.

We have two accounts with Greentree.  Our original mortgage was refused any help.. Was told to "go to some agency maybe in Charlotte" that could help you make the payments.  So, I cannot afford to make the original mortgage payments, and now I had to borrow the money to bring my account current, causing me to incur another debt.  And THEN had the nerve to ask where the money came from..

On the second mortgage, I was told I COULD get a deferment, but the account would have to come 30 days late to help us.  After several phone calls to this so called account rep, never being able to reach him,  I was told that everything was in place for the deferment, and just waiting for Gino to okay it..  But that I had to call him on the 16th of August, when the account would be past due enough. 

Finally got ahold of my "account rep" this morning.  Was told that he is no longer my account rep, that I had been transferred to another account rep.   Fine.  Now, this account rep tells me "what can I do for you".  Told him that Gino had been working on my deferment, and figured he had transferred all the original information to him.  Oh no, THIS account rep needed to start fresh..........Wanted all new information submitted to him. So, we have to start from scratch AGAIN!!  Putting us further behind.

I realize, and I was bluntly told that Greentree isn't obligated to do anything for us in this situation..  They DID offer a payment plan, that would put me behind from the get go until we were sure of our income. 

In these days of uncertainty, I realize that companies have to be cautious.  But, we have been clients for 13 years, and would have thought there would be SOMEthing that could have helped us for these two months under these circumstances.  Instead we get collection calls at least once daily....including at work.....And I have just had enough. 

Anymore it doesn't pay for people to be upfront, honest, and to pay their bills on time, cause Greentree treats you like you're trying to steal this monthly mortgage payment out of their personal wallets.  I have never experienced anything so ridiculous in my life...

Here is a mortgage company who offers "help to those in need".   What a joke......
