There were five remaining passengers (including me) who had to wait for yet another bus to arrive to pick us up. That left us to wait another thirty minutes until it arrived. Note, that it was about 3 o'clock in the morning & we were a group of 4 females & 1 male near only a gas station and a Del Taco restaurant that was closed. Our chauffeur assured us our baggage would be forwarded to either Las Vegas, Nevada, which was our next stop or our final destination. Once the passenger bus finally came to pick us up, again no checked baggage was allowed onto the new bus. So basically everyone's baggage was left on the disabled bus. As of now, 09/24/11 (departure date was 08/03/11) according to my final destination's station in Santa Ana, Calif. & Greyhound corporate, my baggage is nowhere to be found. I assume my baggage is somewhere in Las Vegas or where ever the disabled bus was taken.
I have made several phone calls to the Corporate office to no avail. I was told by a corporate representative, "I cannot do anything for you ma'am". I have tried calling the Las Vegas station, (where my luggage was possibly sent & where I was supposed to transfer at), that ended in failure because they DO NOT answer their phone. I was told by a corporate rep. that this practice is common. I do not feel I should have pay out of pocket to travel back to Las Vegas from California just to check to see if my baggage is there. I would also like to add that after a two hour wait sitting on the floor at the Las Vegas station for the next connecting bus to California, during my trip from Las Vegas to California that bus also broke down in the same manner as the first. We were again on the side of the road, this time in midday heat. We waited an hour for another bus to arrive and checked baggage for the new passengers was again left on the disabled bus. I got the chance to speak with fellow passengers who stated their travel time had been extended by 12 hours but were lucky to be alive after one of the buses they were riding in caught fire when the chauffeur ran over a mattress on the freeway. It became trapped in the wheel well of the bus.
Seriously, something needs to be done with this company.
