I bought a bus ticket for my son to travel from South Carolina to Florida for his grandmother's funeral.  The bus never showed up at the bus station.  When I called the bus station in Columbia SC, the woman was rude, she provided no information about why the bus did not show up, what alternatives would be provided and then hung up on me.  I found an alternative means to get my son to Florida (Amtrax) which cost me more money.  When I called Greyhound for refund information and to file a complaint about how I was treated by SC greyhound personnel, I was given a customer ID number and asked to provide that with the ticket for the refund.  6 weeks later, I have heard nothing from Greyhound.  My first phone call today I was advised that my information is not in the system, I was advised that I could not be transferred to a supervisor, that he did not have the ability to transfer.  I called back, was given another rude customer service person, asked for a supervisor, was told one could call back in 24-48 hours.  Was advised that my information is in the system, but my refund has not been processed.  I asked for the date the refund request was received and was advised that she could not give me that information, nor could she transfer me nor could she give me the name of the supervisor.  I called the corporate office, advised of issues with customer service and was transferred back to customer service.  Asked for a supervisor, was told the computers were down and no one could provide any information, asked for a supervisor again, was transferred.  Supervisor stated that if the computer system was working he could provide me with a date the refund information was received but could not provide any information so asking for a supervisor was a waste of time.  I stated that I expected him to research the information once the system was working and call me back since I refuse to deal with rude, unhelpful customer service agents again.  The supervisor stated that he cannot make the refund process happen any faster but since I believe it has been 8 weeks that he would call me back with an exact date the information was received.  3 different answers from 3 different rude, unhelpful customer service people.  No wonder this business is falling apart, they treat the people that pay their salaries horrible.  I would expect better from a company who needs the business, and I promise them this, they will never get my business again.  Amtrax is cheaper and more reliable.

Follow along please, I had already paid Greyhound and then in addition had to pay Amtrax just to get him here.  So that's $158.00 to greyhound for a bus that never came plus $60.00 for Amtrax who actually got him here on time !!

I am confused.

I understand you are angry that you had to pay again to get your Son to his Grandmother's funeral. Greyhound should have refunded your money promptly. 

However you made a statement early in your post that said
"I found an alternative means to get my son to Florida (Amtrax) which cost me more money. "

Then at the end of your post you had claimed that GreyHound has lost your business, and finally added
"Amtrax is cheaper and more reliable. ".

This contradicts your  first statement.

So was the first statement a poorly worded sentence, or was the last statement an exaggeration to try to get others to go for the alternative "Amtrack", even though "Greyhound " was cheaper.
