My shopping experience was different, and it has been with all these other companies for a long time now. I have been using "ShopSafe" or "Virtual Credit Card" for many years; the names of this feature vary depending on the issuing Bank. These "credit cards" are virtual #s generated randomly from your real credit card, but you are able to set both, an expiration date, and an amount limit. Does not get any better than, that does it?
For example, when I purchased the original offer of GripGo I calculated the $14.95 + $7.95 for S&H, plus a another $7.95 for the S&H of the second "Free" GripGo. The total came upt to less than $31.- which is the maximum amount where I limited my virtual credit card number. And guess what? That is all that GripGo will get from me....
I strongly recommend to those of you who are online/phone shoppers, to contact your credit card issuing bank to see if they offer such service.
It is FREE! and you can always go back online and close that number. It is "safety in a gift box"... (not literally, though...)
The best part? Once that number is used by a single merchant, it may not be used by anyone else! So, no worries about potentially sneaky employees or internet hackers trying to steal your number. They will not be able to charge anything to that credit card number....Sweet!
