Does your business have a bad reputation?
Fix it the right way.
Corporate Advocacy Program™
Gulf Coast Construction is a general contractor. The owner of the company is Jimmy Day, Jr. He was previously in business with his brother, Shannon Day of Texas Builders and Contractors. Jimmy ripped his brother off and went into business on his own. This separation caused many lawsuits to be filed againts Shannon, Jimmy, and the two above mentioned companies. He has a bad reputation of making bills and not paying them. He has at least 4 active lawsuits in Harris County, Texas as I speak.
At Gulf Coast Construction, Jimmy will hire the subcontractors such as the drywall laborer, the electrician, the hvac person, the carpernter, and plumber. The subcontractor will inform Jimmy of the price he is willing to charge to get such job done. Jimmy will then agree to this set price and the job will be completed.
Upon completion of the job, Jimmy refuses to pay the agreed upon price. This is where the trouble begans. Jimmy will then began to negotiate the price at this point. As far as I am concerned, there should be no further negotiating at this point. Prices have been agreed upon, the contract signed, and the work completed. It is now time to pay for services rendered. Never in my 6 months of employment have I received full payment from Jimmy. He always has many excuses or he will blame his secretary for me not receiving payment.
Jimmy does not return telephone calls, emails, or faxes. He likes to hide behind his secretary. The only possible way to speak to Jimmy is if I drive up to his office. Then Jimmy is so busy he can not see me and locks himself up in his office.
I filed a lien against him and the owner of the company in which i did the work for. I have spoken with the owner because he contacted me after receiving news of the lien. He was unaware of Jimmy withholding payment from his subcontractors. The owner let me know that my price for labor was well under budget and he was not sure why payment was being held from me. I plan to sue Jimmy Day, Jr and Gulf Coast Construction Group & Develpment, Inc. in the near future.
Do not use Gulf Coast Construction. Run from the name Jimmy Day, Jr. His cell is (((REDACTED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)))
