This so-called "church" needs to be closed down because of its racist and bigoted stance which is so despicable that it needs to be describe here in this complaint. Here is an article about them that comes from Kentucky.com:

Pike church takes stand against interracial couples By Bill Estep

A small Pike County church has voted not to accept interracial couples as members or let them take part in some worship activities.

The decision has caused sharp reaction and disapproval in the Eastern Kentucky county.

"It's not the spirit of the community in any way, shape or form, " Randy Johnson, president of the Pike County Ministerial Association, said of the vote.

The issue came up at the Gulnare Freewill Baptist Church, said Dean Harville, a longtime member who serves as church secretary and clerk. [continued below]....
.....

Attendance is usually around 40 people for a Sunday service at the church in the Johns Creek area, Harville said.

Harville said his daughter Stella Harville, who is pursuing a master's degree in optical engineering at a school in Indiana, brought her fianc, Ticha Chikuni, to church in June and played the piano as he sang.

The couple performed I Surrender All, said Stella Harville, who is 24.

Chikuni, 29, who works at Georgetown College, is black. He is a native of Zimbabwe.

Stella Harville grew up in the church and was baptized there, but she is not a member, Dean Harville said.

Dean Harville said Melvin Thompson, who had been pastor for many years, told him in August that his daughter and her fianc couldn't sing at the church again.

Thompson stepped down as pastor in August, citing health issues, but he refused Harville's requests to drop the issue, Harville said.

The new pastor, Stacy Stepp, said the couple could sing at the church if they wanted, Harville said.

In early November, Thompson proposed the church go on record saying that while all people were welcome to attend public worship services there, the church did not condone interracial marriage, according to a copy of the recommendation supplied by the Harvilles.

The proposal also said "parties of such marriages will not be received as members, nor will they be used in worship services" or other church functions, with the exception of funerals.

The recommendation "is not intended to judge the salvation of anyone, but is intended to promote greater unity among the church body and the community we serve, " the copy supplied to the Herald-Leader read.

Members at a business meeting decided to put the matter before the whole church. Last Sunday, nine people voted for the proposal and six voted against it, Harville said.

There were more people in attendance, but some didn't want to take a stand, he said.

Harville said the resolution was motivated by racism and has given the church, the community, the county and even God a black eye.

"It sure ain't Christian. It ain't nothing but the old devil working, " Harville said.

Thompson, who owns a hardware store, told the Herald-Leader on Tuesday that the proposal has been taken out of context, but declined further comment.

Stella Harville said it has been hurtful that some members of her church family made such a decision.

"They're the people who are supposed to comfort me in times like these, " she said.

East Kentucky Broadcasting, which owns several radio stations, first reported the story about the vote on Monday.

Hundreds of people have since posted comments disagreeing with the decision, said reporter Shannon Deskins.

Johnson, with the local ministerial association, said the reactions have included heartbreak and disbelief.

"Most of us thought that we'd moved well beyond that, " he said.

Harville said he plans to ask the conference of churches to which Gulnare Freewill Baptist belongs to overturn the vote.

Even if that happens, however, "I don't think I'll be able to go back there, " his daughter said"

Public Notice For Immediate Action

I am hereby asking that this church be shut down and closed down completely for its bigotry, hatred and racist attitude and stance. If they say they represent God and it was God who created all races then do they really represent Him? No! Plus their actions do not bring any one to the God that they claim to serve but instead drives others away from Him.

Its time we put a stop to racists once and for all and therefore I call upon this church to be ended completely for its actions that only produce enmity against others of other races and let's put racists and their racism in their place under our feet for good.

Church Rights = Bible Rights (The Denial of This Must End)

AUTHOR: Close Down This Church - (USA)

Obviously one should not expect people who are:

(1) Not Christians
(2) Never Given Their Life To Christ
(3) Don't Even Know or Read The Bible

To Understand Anything...These People who will go into into an eternity without Christ if they do not turn over their lives to Christ cannot speak on His behalf or His Church.  Let me therefore help those who need Help from the Bible (which is the Final Authority for Any Church).  Here is what it says

A.  HERE IS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT HEAVEN:

Revelation 7:9-10

9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

IF PEOPLE OF ALL RACES WILL BE IN HEAVEN AS IS SAID IN THE BIBLE THEN THE BIBLE SHOWS ITS AGAINST RACISM

THE POINT: IF THE CHURCH IS PRACTICING RACISM THEN IT IS AGAINST THE VERY BIBLE THAT IT CLAIMS TO UPHOLD AND IT IS VIOLATING IT'S BIBLICAL RIGHTS

B.  In Scripture there are several references to problems in which people with different racial backgrounds were involved. In each case the instruction is clear that God made no distinction between races regarding salvation or blessing. However, he did make a distinction between nationalities. In Numbers 12:1-16, Miriam and Aaron openly
criticized Moses for marrying the Ethiopian woman. However the issue was not racial, but jealousy over Moses' leadership, and the criticism was over marrying a foreigner, any foreigner, and not because she was an
Ethiopian (see Number 12:2). In Acts 13:1 we read of "Simeon that was called Niger" and "Luis of Cyrene". Simeon was also referred to by his Latin name "Niger" ("niger" translates as "black" in English).

The fact is that God had people who were Black in the Early Church.  God did not care about their color of skin and so had them part of the early church and its history.

C.  The gospel that is the good news of Jesus dying on the cross is for ALL genders and for all Races and for all Backgrounds

Galatians 3:28

"In Christ's family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ."

Any group of people that do not preach a gospel that is for ALL is to be counted as CURSED by God or ACCURSED.

Galatians 1:8-9

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be ACCURSED.  As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be ACCURSED.

In Conclusion here is one Christian monk said in his comments about this church's racism:

Brother Kendall O.S.B. Dallas, Texas, United States

You are a " free will church" and you will not wed a racial couple. (Of which black persons have more of their roots than whites in the south.) So where in God's name does the " free" come in. I am a Benedictine oblate monk And in my prayers I will pray for these two people. Yes I hope they sue.....your church and it goes broke so the rest
of your flock will not be perverted and misled by your Devils work on them. You are a disgrace to hard working people like myself who know no color I only see two people in love who do not want to live in sin.

Imagine a Monk has more sense than those who are not Monks.  The Bible's Rights are the Church's Rights and any who violates the Bible's Rights are violating their church rights.  For the Bible says:

Acts 17:24-27

God who made the world and all that is in it, being Lord of both Heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by human hands, nor is he ministered to by human hands, as though he had need of anythingseeing that he is the one who gives to all men life and breath and everything else. From one forefather he has created every race of men to live over the face of the whole earth. He has determined the times of their existence and the limits of their habitation, so that they might search for God, in the hope that they might feel for him and find himyes, even
though he is not far from any one of us.

Any Church Against The Bible is Against Its Own Self Because Its Rights To Be The Church Come From The Bible.  This church shows its against the Bible that is shown over and over here and therefore we can safely say is against itself and should not be associated with as the Bible (Full of the Church's Rights) says.

2 Thessalonians 3:14 (King James Version)

14And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

Church is within it's rights. Find another Church.

AUTHOR: KevinMemphis - (United States of America)

I completely agree with you that this backwoods, knuckle dragging congregation of so called "Christians" is discriminating against these people based solely on race and misplaced worries about racial "mixing".
However, we do have freedom of religion in this country, and churches play by different rules than say Cracker Barrel or a municipal public swimming pool. They have no obligation whatsoever to to allow anyone into their service that they look down their evil noses at.
The bigots can do what they want in their own churches. It's just that simple.
Further, this site is for reporting rip offs. Not just for angry random tirades.
Worship elsewhere, if you feel you must.
Best of luck.

and???

AUTHOR: Stacey - (U.S.A.)

How is this a rip off to you?? Are you one of the people that was banned from the church? NO! Saw this article myself and it did make me mad but they have the right to do what they want because it is THEIR church.

The Westboro "Church", and I use the term loosely, make me sick when they protest anything they think is not within in their so called "teachings" but I don't write a ROR report.  Just part of life.

Feet do your stuff

AUTHOR: voiceofreason - (United States of America)

Where we come from congregants who don't like their church generally vote with their feet and go elsewhere, and not a few churches have ultimately disappeared, or ended up taken over by the folks who they had opposed because their views turned out to be those of a distinctly small minority who ultimately did not carry the day.

But I don't totally stand with Ken or Flyinrider on this one. I see nothing wrong with taking an aggressive campaign public to give this so called church a hard time. Its muckedy mucks chose to take a stand that many find repugnant and they can be big enough boys now to deal with the fallout for doing so. Nobody needs to "honor" the church's first amendment rights by stifling their own. This church feels so strongly that interracial marriage is taboo, then they can deal with the consequences of their "belief". If the rest of their members concur then they ought not have anything to worry about, except angry glares and comments. If not, then I guess their own members will eventually force it to back off the stand.

Not in America

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (USA)

"I am hereby asking that this church be shut down and closed down completely for its bigotry, hatred and racist attitude and stance.  "

It's sad to see statements like this.   While I agree that this church appears to tolerate bigotry, I'm also troubled that someone would demand that a church be shut down for its views.

This country was founded by people seeking religious freedom.  The constitution upholds those principles as well.    We don't uphold the notion of religious freedom as long as it meets your (or anyone else's) approval.  That is exactly what the pilgrims came here to escape.

Sorry, but you either have to believe in religious freedom for all, or religious freedom for no one.  Distasteful as it may seem to you, bigots are also free to worship in whatever way they choose.

If you were able to do what you want and have this church shut down for its views, that would be a ripoff on a grand scale.

Who, exactly is going to shut this church down for your dislikes?

They have a right to allow or not allow whoever they want, right in your eyes, or not.

Outsiders may not like their policies, but your so called "Public Notice For Immediate Action" is pure attention getting, worthless B.S.

Who is that little diatribe directed at?
