Gutter Boyz is actually based in Sagle, Idaho, just outside Sandpoint, which they call their address. It is a 2-person operation - the owner/installer, Leigh Britton, and his wife/office mgr., Paige Britton.
Gutter Boyz installed gutters on my new construction house on May 21, 2009. During cleaning on April 23 & 26, the gutter cleaning man pointed out 2 problem areas: the first is the 20' section of gutter over the garage door, which does not drain toward the downspout, but allows rain water to sit stagnant for days even with no rain. The 18" of gutter closest to the downspout is clear and dry, and the sitting water starts after that and goes the whole length of the gutter, attracting mosquitos.
The 2nd area is on the front of the house. There is a low spot toward the middle of that gutter where all rainwater and debris collects rather than flowing toward the downspout. It overflows at that point, flooding the ground beneath and eroding soil.
I contacted Gutter Boyz, and was immediately met with defensiveness and a litany of reasons why it could not be their fault. The owner later left an angry message on my voicemail actually blaming the "idiot" gutter cleaning man. He later called and said he would come check it out, but did not come at the specified time or call. Repeated calls to the company have gone unreturned. This is the same behavior I encountered with this company right after installation when I had a problem. It appears to be their modis operandi - deny responsibility, sight unseen, blame others, and fail to honor appts. and return calls. They are the most unprofessional company I have ever encountered. Although they are bound by the 5-year warranty and the gutters are not even 1 year old yet, they think they are above the law and can ignore the problem. They will learn.

To the best of my recollection I did not meet the complainant's contact with Gutter Boyz with defensiveness nor a litany of reasons why her gutter cleaner's assessment "could not be our fault." The complainant was very upset, angry, rude and made derisive comments regarding the installer and the installation. As was company policy, I collected as much factual information as possible. I made every attempt to calm the complainant and assure her that her concerns would be addressed.
Gutter Boyz did receive many phone calls from the complainant demanding that appointments be set according to her schedule, not that of the installer's. Unless a customer is willing to make an appointment at the start of the working day, specified times are not possible. An installer has no way to determine how long individual jobs will take. This was explained, however she was not willing to set early appointments. The complainant demanded I report to her several times a day to update her regarding Leigh's response to her demands. She gave no consideration to the fact that he was working, unable to answer a phone or return a call within a short time period. This was also explained to her. I made every effort to mediate an acceptable resolution to this situation, returned every call she made that I was aware of.
The complainant states that I think I am above the law and can ignore problems. She does not know me or anything about me. She does not know what I think or what I choose to ignore. Despite this, she chooses to speak for me. She does report, however, that her issue was resolved. At least she got that part right.
I am no longer Gutter Boyz' office manager nor Leigh Britton's wife and am in no way affiliated with either.
