H Greg Auto Auction Sells DAMAGED CARS Doesn't Stand Behind Product!! Hallandale, Florida

This dealership seems to go out of their way to deceive customers.  Here's the story:

1.  On May 15, 2010 I purchased a 2006 C230 from them.  A carfax I was shown indicated no accident history.  At the time I also purchased an extended warranty.  The warranty was not available for me to review at the time, but I was told it was bumper to bumper with certain noted exceptions.

2.  In early July - LESS THAN 60 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE - my air conditioning compressor quit.  I took this in to a (different) mercedes dealership and they confirmed that the a/c compressor was broken.  Odd that this should occur less than 2 months after purchase, but I did not kick up a fuss.  The warranty company agreed to cover.

3.  As the dealership began to service the car, they discovered that two guard plates normally found on the bottom of the engine were simply MISSING.

4.  As the dealership began repairs, they discovered that the engine cover WAS CRACKED and it was unsafe to remount a compressor.  They believed that this damage could ONLY be caused by impact.

5.  Therefore, I called and submitted an insurance claim.  The adjuster examined the vehicle and determined there was no sign of any other damage - he stated UNQUESTIONABLY that I could not have caused this damage.  In other words, the damage previously existed.

6.  I called H Greg Auto Auction and explained about the missing panels and broken engine cover.  I noted the circumstances, and explained that I wasn't seeking monetary compensation.  I was happy to allow their service department to fix the engine cover (especially as the part cost was very small - the primary cost for such a repair is labor).

7.  H Greg Auto Auction told me they have no responsibility in regards to the automobile.  They claim to have sole me an "as is" automobile and have no intention of standing behind their product in regards to damage (and missing parts) that were clearly a problem PRIOR to my purchase.

DO NOT BUY FROM H. GREG AUTO AUCTION.  They clearly take any opportunity to move previously damaged inventory out the door and disclaim ANY responsibility to the customer.
