I had gone to this company in order to seek some advice on a ticket that I had received. This was a free consultation. I was told that he'd be able to help me and that he would look into this further for me. He requested a deposit, that was to be placed towards the final balance of approx $500.00. I gave a deposit of $150. I asked and was told that if I decided not to pursue this that my deposit would be refunded. After months had passed he (Gary Kober) sent me a letter in the mail requesting me to pay the balance. I had emailed him asking about the refund and again mentioned that I was unsure if I wanted to have him represent me, or if I would plead guilty or what. He told me to have him review the police report and that he would be better able to provide me with advice once he had reviewed it. I agreed to let him look into it further. At no time, did he tell me that he would be charging me anything for doing this. I again received a bill in the mail requesting me to pay the balance. I emailed him back saying I would not be using his services and to please refund me my deposit. He emailed me back saying there was no refund.
That this deposit was being used towards work that he had put in. I emailed him stating that I was never informed once that he would keep my deposit if I had him give me more info. I then contacted the BBB and informed them of the situation. He has responded with a bunch of lies stating that he told me there would be a "Fee assessment." With my response to the BBB I stated asking why I would continue to ask him in emails (which I have) regarding a refund if I had been told this.
Basically I was told that my deposit was to be put towards the balance owing. Since I decided not to pursue his service I should have received a refund, I however did not.
This should be a warning to anyone dealing with this company, my advice would be to deal with anyone else.

Ms. Anonymous, if the facts as you report them to be were as clear cut, then you would disclose your full name and address instead of hiding behind the veil of "Anonymous". You came to us for a free consult, which you received, and then you retained our services, which you also signed a contract for. A flat rate fee was quoted if your matter went to trial, but if it didn't, then we would only charge you a fee for services rendered. As we got closer to your trial date you were still undecided whether to proceed to trial. When we requested payment on your outstanding balance on your account, suddenly you did have the finical resources to pay us as you were behind on other finical commitments. You then canceled our services and expected a full refund even though we had performed your requested services. Because of your finical crisis you expect free services from businesses that you have signed a contract with. Your definition of refund differs from the true definition of refund.
We hope that your finical crisis is over and that you will be able to pay for services that you desire. I can only think that you remain anonymous at this time to avoid outstanding creditors from finding you.
