After making this post , " Kevin" wanted to take me to task. I have gathered more information which will be coming soon that substantiates my " baseless allegory" which " Kevin" so vehemently attacked. I ask you to follow a very well documented weblog named "Legal Schanauzer" "One couple's encounter with corrupt judges, slimy lawyers, and incompetent prosecutors in Alabama. . . and how you can avoid being cheated by the vermin who make a mockery of our justice system." And in addition to that I want to add one link to a story about Nick Dirzis, Hoover Chief of Police (Birmingham News 1996) and also another story about Nick Dirzis deleting video evidence recently in an investigation of  Birmingham Police Officers who were fired after beating an unconscious man. Also to be continued at a later date, more information which corroborates my initial report of corruption in Hoover, Alabama.
These two entries will be posted to show a pattern / history of the corrupt Hoover Police Department, since at least 1996.http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=_3AfAAAAIBAJ&sjid=iMgEAAAAIBAJ&pg=3765%2C4182756   This is not the first time Nick Dirzis has be caught breaking the law. Nick Dirzis and the rest of Hoover Police department have a history of corruption.

Alabama Police Video Shows Officers Beating Unconscious Man After Rollover Crash

After a year under wraps, Alabama cops hand over tape showing officers beating accident victim who gave chase.

Police beating series in Alabama from video
Sweet home Alabama? Not for suspect Anthony Warren who was beaten and arrested for a police chase last year. The tape just surfaced, and shows five cops attack the unconscious man. The series shows the officer being struck, Warren flying out of his car, laying dormant as the first officer reaches him, and the final shot is the melee that ensued.
Images: YouTube

(SALEM, Ore.) - Police in Hoover, Alabama, near Birmingham, have released a videotape showing five officers beating an unconscious man who crashed his vehicle while being chased by police.

The pursuit, beating and arrest of suspect, 38-year old Anthony Shannon Warren in March 2008, actually led to the firing of four white officers and one black officer; the ones shown in the video.

But they weren't fired until very recently.

The officers who attacked the man were from Birmingham Police. A police officer who Warren struck with his vehicle during the chase, is from Hoover Police.

The chase in March 2008 from everything I know, was the type of event that places a cop at maximum stress level. The fact that the man appears to run down a Hoover officer who was setting up spike strips, in the line of duty, is the kind of thing that takes law enforcement right to the edge with human anger and rage, understandably.

What happened with regard to the officers' lack of restraint was clearly something that is unacceptable to this society; crook or not the guy they beat wasn't even awake. But it is clear that they are "in the moment" and probably have their hearts racing at maximum speed.

The incident stands in stark contrast to the recent beating of an Arizona preacher at a Border Patrol checkpoint. In that event the man was repeatedly tased, then drug from his car and had his face scrubbed with broken glass. He also appears to receive a general, overall beating.

The Alabama officers in Birmingham, as bad as their actions appear to be, were dealing with one of the most serious situations they may experience in their careers.

The Arizona DPS officers and Border Patrol agents who attacked the Baptist minister were merely peeved and "getting some" as police often say. There was no obvious threat, just a Civil Rights crusader who believes his 4th Amendment Right protects him from illegal search and seizure inside his country's borders.

Yet an endless number of people claiming to be law enforcement, have contacted Salem-News.com to state that the officers and agents at the checkpoint believed they were in danger. I don't believe that they felt they were in danger. They didn't act like people who believed their lives were in danger, based on the video tape.

Documentary on PTSD Needs Help to Reach Completion (VIDEO)

I don't know how to process that, but I would clearly say that the Hoover, Alabama officer struck by a fleeing vehicle, shown on the tape, does know what it is like to have his life in danger, and he would probably not appreciate that reality of "danger" being used as a constant excuse for bad or even illegal behavior by police.

The problem in Alabama with both departments, is that they weren't forthright; and the video was not brought into the light until Hoover Police made their case against the suspect, Warren. What they provided to the DA was the footage with the officer being struck by the car, but the police beating hit the editing room floor.

Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis admitted this week that the video turned over to the Jefferson County prosecutors, was indeed the edited version that left out the shots of five Birmingham police officers beating Warren as he lay unconscious on the ground.

Brandon Falls with the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office, says Hoover's Police Department did fail to disclose that the video was edited.

Derzis however, says one of his detectives was up front with prosecutors before Warren's trial date, that the original tape had more footage that was left off, according to The AP.

The five Birmingham officers were fired by their police chief, A.G. Roper, on Tuesday. Now the case is in the hands of the Alabama Bureau of Investigation. They are investigating the beating and the agency's story surrounding the edited video.

Also, it was announced that the FBI has launched a civil rights investigation.

Here is the video:

Funny you should ask Roger. Professor Henry Fowler, the Alabama Lawyer who would become a Staff Attorney for Associate Justice Tom Parker of The Alabama Supreme Court was my Ethics Professor. He actually gave us the answers to the final exam. We had weekly take home quizzes every week before the final exam and Dr. Fowler gave you the answers to the weekly quiz during the following class meeting. Every question on the final exam was taken from the weekly quizzes. Almost everybody got an A in Ethics. If you didn't, it was because you had a bad memory. As you have seen, the Ethics rules are only enforced against the people they want to get rid of. The unfortunate outcome of the adoption of the ethics rules is that they teach lawyers to become even more creative at bending the rules. Lawyers tend to find ways to blame their non-attorney employees with their violations of the rules. It's more cost effective to fire a minimum wage employee than it is to get suspended and lose your ability to bill attorney fees for a year. One lawyer whom I used to work for intentionally kept a convicted felon on the payroll and he made that person do the books so he would have somebody to blame if the client trust account didn't balance.

An ethics teachers helped his students cheat on tests? That's a classic. And why am I not surprised that lawyers would try to blame their ethics violations on non-lawyer employees. You and I need to write a book someday about what really goes on in Alabama law firms. I would love to write an insider's story about a place like Haskell Slaughter or Bradley Arant. And God only knows what some of these smaller renegade firms actually pull.

Hoover, the new SIN CITY

Thanks Irvine, you obviously recognize the similarities in these 2 towns. I would not be suprised if I were murdered by some of the people that run this town for exposing them in print. Someone like "Kevin" who is most likely the mayor or a judge here, being as passionate as he was in his post. Anyway, It goes like this.....        During the Great Depression, Phenix City went bankrupt, accumulating more than $1.1 million of debt. By 1933, the city was operating under a federal receiver. At the time, local authorities rationalized widespread crime and corruption in Phenix City as being a necessary revenue producer in the absence of other businesses. City leaders took advantage of this activity and enforced a system of fines and  licensing for gambling(speed traps in Hoover) and for the use and sale of liquor to raise money for the city's treasury, while not addressing the illegal activities themselves. By 1945, the city was collecting more than $228,000 a year in fines. And of course I'm sure you know that Albert Patterson was murdered in 1954 trying to clean it up.  Same ol stuff going on up here. Robbing the citizens. Mayor Petelos was a builder / lawyer from Montgomery (Bob Riley Mafia) who raped Hoover by over building and not creating any core industry. Now the city is broke so he deputized the HOOVER POLICE TO HOOVER PIRATES. Doing his dirty work under the guise of Taking our roads back (Gov Bob Riley), all a big racket to steal from the citizens what these guys put in their pockets. Get my drift?? $45,000 a day in fines = $1,350,000 a month. 30 traffic cops X 10 tickets each per day X $150 average = $45 thousand a day X 30 days (one month) + $1 million 350 thousand dollars a month. Are you listening Hoover. Theoretical estimate of course. X 12 months = $16 million 200 thousand dollars a year. Disclaimer, strictly just an exercise in the possibilities. Don't think they would kill someone who got in the way? Heck, I'm scared to tell you the truth. Hoover has a cyber crime division which I'm sure they could find out who I am if they are determined. Governor Riley is dangerous, you saw the video? Don't mess with me. The roads around here look like a sea of blue lights. JACKPOT. The general public is naive about corruption. I hope that changes.

Kevin, I know your frustrated that I don't have to "prove" anything to you. You don't own me. It's a free country, free speech. Delusion is still not a rip off

AUTHOR: Kevin A - (USA)

Once again, you prove yourself the most delusional individual on the internet. I should not be, but I am amazed. NOW you claim because I disagree with you that:

A) I do not comprehend your hollow accusations. You still have not given any evidence of anything you have said, backtracking on your initial implication you were ticketed by now claiming NOT to have received any. This further undermines your claim. Why, then, are you upset with your municipality? Because you heard other people got tickets?

B) I am untruthful (implying again that I am corrupt). Please, point out the part(s) of what I have said that are false. You might need some help here, since you and the truth have only a passing acquaintance. Feel free to phone a friend.

C) I am the one who cannot understand what a rip off actually is (this is funny). I am not the one to falsely claim to have been ripped off. As to the definition, please see my post above.

D) I have anger issues. I reiterate - I am not now, nor have I been, angry or upset in any of my posts. This again is transference on your part.

E) I am both a prosecutor and a bully. I am neither. This smacks of paranoia - a mainstay of your posts to date.

I have not claimed to be "the rip off police" (you sure do have a problem with authority, don't you?). However, your baseless post calls for you to be taken to task. You have no right to come here and bash anyone without providing so much as a SHRED of evidence, then focusing your anger on those who dare question you. Again, this is not a forum for you to make nonsensical accusations.

As for my mouth writing a check my a__ can't cash, my a__ is flattered you care so much about it, but asks you to put your attention elsewhere - such as the mental heath profession, where you could sorely use some assistance. You would be a great case study for some budding Freud.

No Rip Off no matter how much you want it to be.

AUTHOR: Kevin A - (USA)

To the Author: Calling my reply a "tantrum" and attempting to belittle it or me does nothing to take away from the truth of what I have said. There is NO rip off here.

Yes, you twice told me you have no time to reply to me, doing so in each instance (make sense much?). Since you are the king of nonsense, I must defer to your expertise in calling my reply just that (much as I anticipated).

To answer your question, a rip off is defined as: (rip'f', -of') n. Slang 1. A product or service that is overpriced or of poor quality. 2. Something, such as a film or story, that is clearly imitative of or based on something else. 3. A theft.

I am sure you will take the last definition to be what you are claiming. However, to yourself and to "brownsong - culpeper" I will once again state: The police enforcing the speed limit is NOT a rip off, no matter how much you disagree with it. It is their JOB. Further, going even 1 MPH over the limit is illegal, no matter how many people do it. Often speeders try to use the excuse, "I was going with the flow of traffic" when their cases go to court. They always lose this argument.

Oh, and to "brownsong - culpeper": Whether you chose to believe it or not, I never exceed the speed limit. I choose to obey the law, regarless of what you or anyone else thinks. The result? I have NEVER received a speeding ticket in over 25 years of driving.

I agree with "Edgeman - Chico". If you are going to make the choice to speed, be big enough to accept the consequences if you get caught. Whining about it and calling the police/politicians corrupt is ludicrous. No one made you speed. They just caught you. Grow up.

To "Stacey - Dallas": I apologize for the misspelling of your name in my posts.

Again, you were NOT ripped off, nor have you proven any of your other allegations. Take your meds and stay off this site unless you have something real to report.

First of all, I never got a ticket, never said I got a ticket. Sir you missed the whole point with all due respect. It's all about CORRUPTION. That's what Kevin can't seem to comprehend. I suggest you read about "revenue enhancement", corruption, tyranny,"pay for play", freedom of speech. Alabama is one of the most corrupt states in the USA. Kevin is not being truthful which is a major component of corruption. Kevin doesn't even understand the meaning of ripoff or worse tries to make his on definition. (Kevin seems to have an anger problem) Kevin thinks he's the Ripoff police. I think he's a prosecutor. He's got an odor. He's a bully but I can't deal with bullies like I used to. Might go to jail. That's illegal. He let his mouth write a check that I bet his a__ couldn't cash.
And most of all read what the founding fathers thought about "standing armies". The power brokers are robbing this country. Best Regards

How is this illegal

AUTHOR: Edgeman - (U.S.A.)

From Rebuttal #2 titled: Stacy, are you a cop?

"When those who enforce the law, break the law, then there is NO LAW."

How is giving you a speeding ticket "breaking the law"? You went on an incoherent rant about how your area is corrupt but the only evidence of corruption that you have provided is the fact that you got a speeding ticket while you were speeding. That's not illegal and it certainly isn't robbing the citizens who choose to drive over the speed limit.

By the way, I sometimes drive above the speed limit as well. The only difference is that I wouldn't whine about it if I were caught and given a ticket. If you're willing to break the law, then you should be prepared to accept the consequences if and when you get caught.

It's a ripoff

AUTHOR: brownsong - (USA)

I agree with the author. Going five or ten over the limit is normal, everyone does it and anyone who says  they dont is a liar. You have to know where the cops sit. Keep your eyes open. They hide everywhere, but usually in the same spots. I feel for you. Sometimes you can go a year or two without a ticket but then, bam, you get a ticket for barely exceeding. Its stupid, and yes, it is a ripoff. They need to worry about people running red lights or running stop signs or going over 10 miles over the limit. RIPOFF!

You wouldn't know truth if it bit you. Still NO rip off.

AUTHOR: Kevin A - (USA)

Ok, I am going to type this slowly...perhaps some of it will sink in. I will also address all of your accusations (pretty good at those, aren't you?) one by one to make my reply that much easier to understand.

How do you believe you have "...hit some raw nerves..."? Let me tell you. It's called "transference." You have read into what I wrote the emotions you are feeling and decided it was what I was feeling when I wrote it. I am not the slightest bit upset, angry, "scared" (we'll get to that more in a minute) or anything else. I am simply pointing out that what you have written is NOT a rip off report, but a baseless allegation for which you have presented no evidence.

You claim I "...sound like you are still in court...." Unlike you, I do not spend my time in courts. If by that you mean I sound intelligent, thank you. You then asked, "Who said I broke any laws?" You implied you did in your reply to Stacy that the police are pulling people over in 25 MPH zones for doing 30 MPH when they had not done so before. How do you know this? And if you are not being targeted, why so hostile? Your next sentence makes no sense at all and goes to show the irrationality of your rant (yes, I know, you said it wasn't a "rant", but in fact, it is). "...(There aren't any laws in Hoover)..." What about the 25 MPH zones you claim are now being enforced?

You then claim for someone who doesn't live there, I am "...Mighty sensitive there..." So, presenting the REAL truth(your nonsense is NOT truth by any stretch of the imagination) means I must be sensitive about what you wrote? What an interestingly paranoid thing to have said. I need to live there to know that what you claim occurs (again, without proof) makes no sense, or you have "hit a sensitive nerve". I do hope you are seeking professional help. Stacy and I now have some "disease" (the disease of reality, I assume) because what you wrote is nothing but idiotic drivel?

"I don't have to make my case to you..." What do you think this report is all about? Do you think it gives you unfettered ability to defame and slander your local governement? It is designed to give people who have ACTUALLY BEEN RIPPED OFF a place to begin gathering evidence and possibly get together with people who have been similarly abused so they may attempt to recoup some of their losses and see that similar instances do not occur. It was not designed so that any addled-brained lunatic with a keyboard can spout whatever nonsense comes to them in a paranoid-delsusional fit. Oh, and since you've asked (and apparently have little to no idea how this site works) I did NOT search Hoover Police. When you first enter the site, the newest reports show up to the right of the screen. I clicked on it when I saw it out of curiousity (the whole reason it is there).

You claim, "It's just the facts, sir." But that is your problem. You have presented NO facts, just claims with no proof to back them up. Those are called "opinions" and while you are welcome to yours, it does not make anything you have said a "fact." I appreciate your invitation to Hoover. I have no real information on Hoover with which to decide if it is worth becoming my next vacation spot, but should I choose to visit, you will be the first to know. You are correct - this forum is NOT court. Neither is it the place to spout uncorroborated nonsense without being challenged as to it's authenticity.

Forgive my ignorance in idiot, but what does taking history in high school have to do with the (wipe the drool from your chin, please) drivel you have spouted on this site? Restating your unsubstantiated claims that your locality is corrupt does not further anyone's belief that it is so. Proof is required, whether in court or on this site. Again, you provide no specifics, just general allegory. It is insufficient, sir, to gain any support or to tell people just to believe you and leave it at that.

Now you start to call the police "infected" (and stating I may have a "touch"), I assume with corruption? You are lucky the people you have mentioned have not taken action against you for your libelous and defaming statements. You are correct - you are NOT going to educate me, because you have neither the ability nor the information with which to do so. Venting, so you are aware, should be done with one's friends and/or colleagues, not committed to print in a forum designed as a first step toward possible legal action. You are not venting, sir, you are committing libel. And you spent an awful lot of time "not having time" for my reply. Or Stacy's.

I need not live where you do to know that some people will complain about anything, whether founded or not. Without evidence or proof, your claims are UNFOUNDED and UNBELIEVABLE. Accept that or do not. I expect you will do the latter. Your last sentences make even less sense than the rest of your reply. "Or maybe your [sic] part of the problem and you're scared of being OUTED. Are you scared Kevin?" Scared of being found out that I am a police officer (which I previously specifically mentioned I am not)? Hardly. Scared of you? There is no funnier thought on this planet. While I do suspect you suffer from mental illness, I hardly think you have the true mental capacity to present any real threat to anyone. So continue to live in your fantasy/paranoid world where your word is law and anyone who dares challenge you must be part of the problem. I will live in the real world and continue to feel sorry for you and those like you. There is NO RIP OFF here.

BUSTED,, Whew, hit some raw nerves here didn't I. Hey Kevin in Glendale, you sound like your still in court. Who said I broke any laws. (There aren't any laws in Hoover) Just a bunch of crooks. Sour grapes, that's original. Did you ever take any history in high school? You probably don't even get my point. Hoover is CORRUPT ALONG WITH VESTAVIA, PELHAM, AND EVERY MUNICIPALITY IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA. INCLUDING GOVERNOR BOB RILEY. We need honest police officers and they're are plenty, but it's hard for them to keep their integrity when the politicians are rotten. Soon ( the police) they get the fever and then they're infected. Sounds like you've got a touch. Some ( I stress some) uniforms have deep rooted insecurity problems. Look it up Kevin, I'm not going to educate you. Now don't come back with the word "rant". That's what you guys do when people "vent". It's different Kevin, look it up. Trying to be kind Kevin, but I really don't have the time for your reply. Just come live here. There is NO Rip off here - This is not "Sour Grape Report"

AUTHOR: Kevin A - (USA)

I see no evidence of any kind of rip off here. It just looks like you want to keep exceeding the speed limit with no consequences. You have provided no particular instance, no details, no corroboration - in fact, you have presented nothing but unsubstantiated (and somewhat unbelievable) allegory against your local police and government and an admission that YOU are a speeder who wants to bash the local police for doing their jobs!

You claim the police have set up speed traps, with no information on said "traps." In fact, in a rebuttal to "Stacy" you admit to doing 30 MPH in a 25 MPH zone, then blast the police for enforcing that speed limit, because, you claim, they have not done so in the past. This is NOT a "speed trap". A speed trap would be something to the effect of the police waiting at a 35 MPH zone just after a 55 MPH zone, and ticketing motorists who have not had a chance to slow down.

You told Stacy to look up "revenue enhancement." What does this have to do with your claims? What difference would it make if the police are cracking down on speeders even if they have turned a blind eye to it in the past? You do not have a right to exceed the posted limit, even if it is by just 5 MPH, just because you have gotten away with it before. You have been lucky in the past, and you know the police are enforcing the limit NOW.

You claim in your "report" that the police and your local politicians are corrupt. Where is your evidence of this? Is it again that they are now enforcing laws they may have been lax on enforcing in the past? And how would you know this unless you consistently exceed the limit in that area? So, to reiterate Stacy's comment - don't speed and you won't have a problem. You obviously know the speed limit there. Keep to it.

Police enforcing the speed (or any other) laws is not evidence of corruption or any of the other claims you have made on this site. The only thing I see here is a huge case of sour grapes. SLOW DOWN. Oh, and by the way (and before you ask) I am NOT a police officer (and I don't think Stacy is either).

Stacy, are you a cop?

Stacy from Dallas, use your dictionary and look up revenue enhancement. Look up corruption. When cops start hiding in 25 mph zones and write you for going 30 and for years they haven't, then you have a speed trap. When those who enforce the law, break the law, then there is NO LAW. Simple answers come from simple minds.
