It takes HRS more than 10 days to process your payment! It is ridiculous considering that other credit card companies can do it in half of the time. They then pocket the late fee and do not give their customers the opportunity to pay their bill online! For a company with so many unhappy consumers you would think they would change their inadequate system of receiving payments. They should, before they lose more customers. I have had it with them!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Use online bill pay service to avoid late payments

AUTHOR: CHRISTOPHER - (U.S.A.)

I have had this same problem multiple times in the past. For what it's worth, the problem seems to happen only with Household Retail Services, and not with their "better half" Household Bank. But, either way, there is now an easy way (at least for some) to avoid this "it took us so long to process your mailed-in payment you're now late and we tacked on a $29 late fee" scam. Pay this bill using online Bill Pay. I use Bank of America. Their system is free. I'm assuming other banks would have a similar system, although some of them may charge a fee for their Bill Pay service. Anyway, BofA's Bill Pay will send your payment *electronically* if they can, and they only physically print and mail a check as a last resort. Since the payment for the Best Buy credit cards is made to Household Bank or Household Retail Services, they can send to them electronically. This takes only 2 days, you have your bank to verify when the payment was sent and received at the other end, and as far as I know the receiving bank cannot lose or refuse an electronic funds transfer. So, for example, if I make my payment on a Monday during the day, it is received by Household on Wednesday. Holidays and weekend days don't count, but this still is much, much quicker than sending a payment via mail. I have been sending my payments this way for over a year now, have never had any problems, and most importantly never have Household claim I was late and I never have to pay any late fees!
