Mail (I am told by postal experts) from Los Angeles to the City of Industry takes, at best, same day -- at worst, two! It's like mailing from one post office in your city to another post office in your same city. Tantamount to mailing from East Philadelphia to West Philadelphia -- or say --Manhattan to (as my teenage daughter calls it) ... the "Boogie Down Bronx! It could be just as easy to drop it off as to mail it, in terms of proximity. Close enough to work in the City of Industry and have lunch "each day" in Los Angeles --- providing you have at least --- 30minutes!
Yet each month, one of the two credit card payments being mailed from the same location, the same post office, on the same day -- will take -- (according to HSBC Customer Service Dept.) from 8 to 15 days to arrive!!! ... and I am assessed their fair, conveniently 'verbally positioned' ... LATE PROCESSING FEE of $30 ... on a ZERO balance credit card.
Now other mailed payments, including my second card w/HSBC, my daughter's new Volkswagen car payment (which I pay .. yea?), two Capital One cards, one CHASE VISA, and my Credit One VISA payment ... are never, ever, ever ---late! As is the case, all payments were "collectively" mailed on July 3rd in the a.m. and "each" delivered by July7th ... with the exception of one !? You may now guess which one.
I spoke today with both my MAIN POST OFFICE at LAX and the Post Office in the City of Industry, attempting to track my missing HSBC payment, which I sent this time as
CERTIFIED MAIL: Delivery Confirmation Requested. My payment was routed to and delivered from both but, ... as of today, ... July 10th, 2009, HSBC states ---"We have not processed it because I hasn't posted to your account ... Sir. Another failed "offshore" argument with a less than neighborhood representative full of polite, pointless excuses and barely recognizably platitudes conveyed phonetically. But realistically, I care less about where HSBC does business than how?
THIS, MY FRIENDS, IS A NATIONAL SCAM OF MONUMENTAL PROPORTION ... LEGALLY JUSTIFIED THEFT THROUGH TRICKERY. $30-39 times the HSBC customer base --- each month! Millions stolen under the guise of "LATE PAYMENTS." Ask yourself --- Who benefits when "timely" payments are processed slow? Deliberate, slimy, and unethical theft through a process.
My Credit card payments to Sioux Falls, SD and Wilmington Delaware arrived July 6th; Monterey Park, California July 5th; Two Capital One MC/VISA payments, one Credit One VISA and a second HSBC VISA were delivered and recorded on --- JULY 4TH???!!! --- THE NEXT DAY! ... while we all sat eating BB QUE and inhaling pies.
THIS IS CORPORATE GREED! Yet another reason to steal from consumers while giving --nothing of value -- in return. "BAD MEN FLOURISH WHEN THE GOOD DO NOTHING! "Either Adams or Jefferson said that ... what ya' want from me ... I'm on vacation.
I AM CALLING ALL INTERESTED PARTIES TO ACTION. Senator Levin has been working on a credit card bill in Congress. We should contact him and others of like minds, to directly address this new gang of thieves collectively.
Can you spell 'Class Action?' Let's all fight back TOGETHER ... starting NOW!

Search Tipsif I were you, I would go speak with an attorney and see what they could do for you. Especially since you have sent a payment certified mail and have proof when it was sent and received.
Additionally, opening a complaint with the FTC might be a good idea also. If this gets you no where, I would recommend firing that credit card company. They obviously aren't interested in keeping you as a customer.
Midilaw: This is a completely different problem from yours. You were attempting a last minute payment that may or may not post by their policy. This guy is giving them WAY more time to post a payment.
