After signing on to Hughes Net I was disappointed at the slow pace of my new service. I called and talked to operators in India who read from a script and were very hard to understand. My frustration level heightened as I had to keep repeating myself - they couldn't understand me! And kept repeating they were sorry for my trouble and directed my call to another person who was equally as difficult to understand, in India! I let it go as I knew I was sucked into a contract - I lived with slow internet at $85.95 a month for about 2 more months, when they attempted to upgrade their email services. I was without email for a week and we do business over the internet! We lost customers/sales and everytime I called I received the same operators in India, stating that they were holding my email and it should be up and running within 12 to 24 hours and I would receive all email being held SECURELY then....NOT! When they failed at their attempt to upgrade the program, I did not receive all my emails, only a few and again their response was the same from India. "We are sorry you are having problems. Our technicians are working on the problem and you should have all your email in 12 to 24 hours". I finally asked them to put down their script and talk like one human to another. Finnally I was transferred to someone in the legal depart where I left a message - don't know how & it took me over 2.5 hours! I left a message that I would be seeking assistance from an attorney. Finally I received a return call from their offices in Florida. They sent me a return label for the equipment and let me out of the contract. I was told that my account was "zeroed out" and I would owe nothing because of the slow internet service. I'd like to talk to that person again because now they are still billing my credit card & yes I spent hours on the phone talking to India and finally filed a dispute with my credit card company. Hughes Net / Directway advertises falsely, and provides the worst customer service I have EVER experienced! And the internet service they provide is slower than dial up. They even sent me an email requesting that I complete a survey to state why I cancelled and I was blocked from that survey! If ever there was a business or service that should be booted off the circuit - Hughes Net is it! I lost money in sales and am still paying for it!
