SERVICES AND REFUSAL OF SERVICES ALREADY PAID FOR.) I HAD THE SERVICE INSTALLED 5/17/2007. THE SERVICE BEGAN TO GET SLOWER AND SLOWER AFTER INSTALLER LEFT. I CALLED TO HAVE IT FIXED AND ALL I GET IS SOMEONE IN THE PHILIPEANS WHO CONSTANTLY PUT ME ON HOLD AND REFUSE SUPERVISORS OR REFUSE A FULL REFUND PRIOR TO MY 30 DAYS BEING UP. THE SERVICE IS EXTREMELY SLOW FOR $80.00 A MONTH SERVICE. REFUSED DOCUMENTATION OF PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE, REFUSED SERVICE AT THE SPEED I AM PAYING FOR, REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY AS REQUESTED AND STATED IN THE WARRANTY PRIOR TO 30 DAY REFUND POLICY BEING UP.

THIS COMPANY IS NICE IN THE BEGINNING BUT I HAVE ONLY HAD MY SERVICE FOR (25) DAYS TOTAL AND THE SPEEDS ARE SO SLOW THAT DIALUP IS FASTER. WHEN CONDUCTING A TEST OF THIS $80.00 A MONTH SERVICE THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT, REFUSED TO GET A SUPERVISOR, REFUSED TO REFUND MY $512.97, AND HUNG UP THE PHONE 5 TIMES AFTER HAVING ME ON HOLD FOR 15-25 MINUTES EACH TIME I CALLED LONG DISTANCE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE EVER. YOU WILL ALWAYS GET SOMEONE FROM THE PHILLIPEANS AND THEY REFUSE TO TRANSFER YOU WHEN ASKED. GOOD THING I RECORDED EVERY CALL I MADE TO THEM. IT GOT THEM ON THE PHONE FLAT OUT STATING THEY ARE REFUSING ME SERVICE. OH AND DID I MENTION I ALREADY PAID $512.97 IN FULL.

Of course there is always an option in my area. I have tried EarthLink DSL, Time Warner Cable, VVM Dialup, AOL Dialup, EarthLink Dialup, and Even Sprint DSL. Funny to find that "Time Warner Cable, EarthLink, Direct way (Hughes Net)" are all the same company. They all use the same cable or DSL towers and lines. I spent so much time and money over a ten year period switching service I can safely call myself an expert in the internet scams that are out there. They only want your hard earned $$$$ and fail to deliver the product.

As a internationally published author and business owner, I have yet to see why the United States continually outsource the entire US product base to India and the Philippines only to have rude customer service and denial of service. Little do they know we as Americans can in fact reach out and touch them with a vengeance? Not speaking in terms of hate crimes or violence, but in terms of money talking on our side. No., I am talking about the B-word; better know as boycott. For years I have boycotted many businesses and it works. A little research helps. Just ask questions. If they are not owned and operated in the U.S. then don't do business with them. Just some of those I boycott. Target (They don't support any of our troops at all ever! I am a retired disabled veteran), Lowe's, HEB, EarthLink, Time Warner Cable, Now Hughes Network, and son on. There are so many to list, but it works. You tell your friends why and show proof it gets them thinking and they too boycott the businesses as we have. The funny thing is that we really don't miss using them and have found the alternative to them. Local and in charge. Take for instance where I get all my novels published. When I contacted publishers they seem to all be outsourced to the Philippines. Funny how everything is there. But Author House on the other hand is not. This are in the U.S. and make and print my work here in the U.S. solely by United States Citizen's only. Love it. It may cost a bit more but the quality and service is intact for sure. Oh and did I mention you can actually go to office to meet the people in Phoenix, Arizona. Amazing to me when I did as they didn't expect that one. Just so happens I have family there in Arizona. In short, if you take the cash out of the other hands and put it back in the United States where the BBB, FTC, FCC and others CAN track them and regulate them, then you will be guaranteed the service you paid for. If you use outsourced services then you will be suckered forever, pay more for less, and take the $$$ out of the US jobs and the Citizens of the US who demand better service and customer service that counts. For once I would like to hear someone on the other end of the phone without and accent and someone I can understand. Almost makes you think you are talking to an alien from mars. Any of you get the time try reading my nonfiction work. It's all I produce: that means it is real not fake for those who didn't understand that. An alternative?

I've been a Direcway/Hughesnet customer for a couple of years now, and I agree with all the negative comments about the company on this website. My question to all is, if you don't have a land line or cable, are there any alternatives out there?
