Guys, beware and tread carefully if you are considering becoming a client of Hair Club For Men. I have never been done by anyone the way we were done by this company.

There was a gentlemen that sent in a rebuttal saying someone did not give specifics: YOu want specifics here you go:

We went into Hair Club almost 3 yrs ago. They told us it would cost $1000.00 for a head of hair. We do not make much money and this was alot for us to come up with. We researched and researched this company. We asked them if we could meet with a current client, and they told us this was not possible.

So we decided to give it a try. We came up with the 1000.00 which was collected before any work was done, they told us that after we were cut in as they call it, we would have to come back every 6 weeks for a full service which would cost of $65.00.

We decided we could live with this. So we trusted them, but as soon as they shaved him ear to ear. They inform us that we will need to decide on a maintenance contract. Which will cost a minimum of $199.00 a month plus tax. They have various levels of programs Bronze, Silver, Gold Etc Etc.

They told us that they would give us a special deal silver program at the bronze price, and this price would remain the same as long as we were a client. We could not afford to add the extra 200 a month to your budget, but since they we so deceptive and had already shaved his head , we had no choice.

Then in less than a year they told us , they could not longer honor this special deal they had made with and our price went up to $269.00 plus tax. And then recently they had a price increase and the price went up again. So it is now over $300.00 a month, and this is just for the program.

And then you have to buy all of their products to use with this system, and they run approximately $40.00 a month, you have to use this sticky tape to hold the thing in place, another small detail they forgot to mention. It has to be changed ever 2-3 days and it is messy!!! I have to do it for him, I don't know what a single guy would do.

And if all the deception isnt bad enough, the quality isnt very good either; on several occasions the systems changed hairlines, and then didn't match, the top and bottom of his hair we different colors,

I have tried to speak with them about all of this. I have gotten an I am sorry, but that is about it. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but sorry isn't good enough. I wonder how they would feel if someone treated them in this manner.

Anyway, I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture

If anyone of you of the 36 of you who is involved in this class action lawsuit, please give me the phone number, I emailed the address you listed and have gotten no reponse. Would like to speak with someone ASAP, Please send a rebuttal with the phone number. If this is not possible, can rip off reports send me this info with your approval?

Thank you

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Consider the alternatives

AUTHOR: Jesse - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 15, 2005

To those who are considering Hair Club for Men (HCM) or another hair restoration technique, I would suggest considering all the alternatives first. There are other alternatives, such as shaving all your hair off, or a hair style that does not hide the receeding hair line (no combovers).

2 1/2 years ago I went and shaved all my hair off. I had started slowly losing my hair about ten years ago. It was to the point where I just about had a bald spot in the back. So I figured just shave it all off and beat nature to the punch. I don't know that I could ever go back. It is so much more comfortable than having hair. I don't have to keep wondering how it looks. I can now put on a hat without having the messed up hair afterwards. In the summer, it's much more comfortable that way. When I get dressed up, I look quite sharp. And finally, I think it looks quite good that way. Others may disagree, and they have, but my opinion is the only one that matters.

I think to either shave it all off or not hiding baldness says something about the person. It says a lot about the person - that they don't feel they have to have hair to be complete. I realize that not everyone would agree with me. All I ask is that people consider the alternatives beforehand.

#1 Consumer Comment

HCM, rip-off, fraudulant, deceptive business practices.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 14, 2004

Hello,

I had a terrible experience at HCM. I was never told about the procedures at any consultations, the prices kept changing, the sales rep tried to put me on a plan they I didn't even sign up on, and the products did not work from day one. I informed the manger of the branch Rodie Moralez about my problems. He promised a refund and I even have the letter from him. I even wrote a letter to the president of the company. I would be very interested in joining the class action lawsuit. Can you forward the e-mail address, phone number, or can Rip-Off Report staff send it to me....It would be much appreciated.

Thank you
