I purchased a Great Dane puppy from Denise Kleiber and her daughter Kaitlyn S., Hampton Danes, which was advertised as limited AKC for $1200. A $300 deposit for the puppy was sent through paypal and confirmed to be received by Denise on January 8, 2011. Payment was made in full, in cash, when we picked up the puppy on March 6, 2011. To date, she has not supplied the AKC paperwork. She continues to make excuses and delay responding to my emails.
The puppy was born on Dec. 30, 2010 to her dam Ruthie and sire Alex, as part of a litter of 7. She claims they are AKC registered. She sold the puppy with a health guarantee, on which she wrote a note (on March 6, 2011) stating she would mail us the AKC paperwork when she received it.
She has not provided any paperwork to date, and continues to make excuses. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which was recently closed after she refused to respond to their claim.
This breeder has a wealth of bad press on the internet. She has previously sold great danes and french bulldogs under several kennel names. The ones I am aware of are: kleiber's kanines, hampton danes, revelation danes. She is also advertising her dogs on nextdaypets.com and puppyfind.com. I have most recently seen puppies from this litter on her website: www.hamptondanes.homestead.com and www.puppyfind.com (listed under seller name Kaitlyn S. from New Rome, WI Jaypeyton@gmail.com 715-952-7273)
Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures and empty promises. Be sure to get the paperwork WITH the dog- do not let her get away with "sending it later" because it will never come. She continues to delay responding to my email correspondance, and has recently advertised an entirely new email address to sell the remaining puppies from this litter: Jaypeyton@gmail.com
Denise is claiming to have vaccinated and wormed the litter of puppies herself. Although this may be true, it cannot be confirmed. I have contacted the veterinarian she listed as given the litter a health exam check. The clinic could not confirm having ever examined Great Dane puppies since their birth on Dec. 30, 2011.
Do not trust this woman- use caution when dealing with her. She has not delivered what she has promised.
