My husband and I was looking for help in repairing our credit and learned about Hargrave through an advertisement. The company has a local office set up here in Columbus, Ohio which is where the company originated and allegedly fled to Florida due to some illegal and wrongful acts that caused a tarnished reputation for Kevin Hargrave. I found out some things about Kevin Hargrave including the alledged information above through a childhood friend of his that has a son that attends the same school as my son. However, I had already paid some of the money a week prior to have the company fix our credit.

Once full payment was made, we were sent a "welcome package" shoved into a letter sized envelope that included the most unprofessional looking documents that I've ever seen. Coming from a law firm made the presentation of these documents even worse. Inside was the contract that was copied so sloppily that it was hard to read some of the information due to it running off the page or going to a slant with smears of ink across each document. The unprofessional presentation of the contract from this law firm raised questions of professionalism and integrity for me about the company.

After careful consideration, we didn't sign the contracts but instead had more questions.

I constantly called the local office here in Columbus talking to a Richard ? where he assured me of many untruths and that Hargrave and Associates guarantees to raise my credit score at least 150 points. I found that questionable so I called the Florida office where she said the minimum guarantee was 50 points and can go up to 125. The Hargrave rep. even refered to me as "baby girl" most of the time and cussed in some our conversations which I found to be very unprofessional. Richard, from the Columbus office also assured me that Hargrave will clear everything negative from my credit report including doctors bills, judgements, and credit card debts, other than child support. After researching I found that this isn't true. They can't delete EVERYTHING from your report that's negative because some of the things that are negative are legally supposed to be there if you didn't pay for the item.

One week after the company took out the 2nd and final payment due to them, I called to find out what the status of our files were. I was informed that until we sign the contracts and submit them, our files were not going to be started. She emailed me more professional looking documents, however, they were different than the documents that I had. So they didn't get signed either.

After researching the integrity of the company through websites and personal aquaintences, being lied to, not being told the complete truth, not signing the contract, and feeling like I'm being played, I requested a full refund of my money only 1 day after recieving the emailed documents only to be told that my file has been started the day that I made my first payment one month prior. Hargrave told me they sent out my information to the credit bureaus a month prior without my agreeing to the terms of their contract or even receiving the contract. I was told that because we made a payment that set forth an agreement. But we had to make a payment to even receive a contract.

My contract states "You may cancel this contract without any penalty or obligation, at any time before mid-night of the 3rd day which begins after the contract is executed and/or authorized by you via in writing or by telephone". I never signed the contract therefore it was never executed nor did I authorize the contract in writing or by phone. After I was told I can't get a refund, I was then told to email www.cancel@hargraveandassociates.com to request a full refund. Nothing has happened yet but I will keep readers posted. It's supposed to take 6-8 weeks for a response. So far it's only been a week.

If the company is so upstanding, growing, and Mr. Hargrave is such a man of God, then why can't I have my money back without going through all this crap. If he is a blessed man, he shouldn't prey on poor innocent people with credit issues and no money. $500 is a lot of money for us and we know that we're not going to recieve a 150 point increase on our reports or anything near that. My advice to anyone is please research the company before you give them your money!!
