Not Bait and Switch
AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, February 06, 2013
POSTED: Wednesday, February 06, 2013The fact is that you signed up for Insurance for a period of time. You gave no indication that they failed to provide this insurance for that period. So there is NO "Bait and Switch", now had you signed up for it and a week later they said "Whoops..we made a mistake you actually owe us xxx more dollars for this coverage"..then you would probably have a valid complaint. But that is not what happened..you got notice of an increase in your renewal. Now, just like every other company they have the right to increase premiums(within the insurance regulations of the State). If you think they violated the law then send a complaint to your States Insurance Commissioner.
Then let us not forget that you saved $1000 over that first year, and regardless of if your rates go up this year with any company..you still saved that $1000. If you don't like the new rate then do what thousands of other people do every month when their insurance is coming up for renewal...shop around. Perhaps after you get different rates, call up Hartford again and see if they can match them somehow.
