My husband, a 100% disabled vet, was contacted by phone and pressured into purchasing a human growth hormone weight loss program to the tune of $975.00. He suffers from many physical and mental illnesses including heart problems,diabetes,anxiety and chronic pain. He is on a variety of medications , including morphine which hinder his ability to think clearly.His doctor has strongly advised him against any over-the -counter medications or supplements.
Within an hour of my husband's placing the order, I phoned the company on his behalf to cancel the order.I explained his medical condition and his doctor's advise. The person I spoke with was very loud and angry . She continued to tout the benefits of the product, loudly, over my attempts to speak.She ranted about how doctors don't want their patients to know about these products, but I couldn't make sense of what she was saying because she was talking so fast and loud.Then she hung up.
When I called back, she said that the people who could process a cancellation were all at lunch.Later she said it was against company policy to cancel orders or refund charges.
Several phone calls followed and I spoke with different people, including "haley", "Tony" "Eddy" and Dena. They all interrupted any attempts I made to speak, and they would hang up on me.Both my husband and I attempted to speak to these people but received only loud angry ranting, having little to do with the purpose of the call.
During the course of one of these calls, Dena said that the product had already been shipped and there was nothing we could do about it. My husband asked for a tracking number and the name of the shipping company. Dena shouted that she had nothing to do with shipping numbers, and she hung up.
After several unsuccesful attempts to obtain a shipping # Dena said that she would stop the shipment.I thanked her and said that since we would not be receiving the product, would she please remove the charge from my credit card. Once again she began to shout very loudly about their no-refund policy.
I contacted my bank to explain the situation. They cancelled the credit card to prevent further charges,but could not dispute the $975 charge which was pending, until it was actually posted. They suggested in the meantime that the quickest resolution to my problem would be to try to deal with the company again and have them remove the charge.
One more call to Dena, who now answered with "Oh you again..." I tried to tell her what the bank had told me. She flew off the handle and began to shout something about my having involved a 3rd party (the bank) and that she didn't have to talk to me. She hung up before I could say a word.
My husband and I are both in our sixties. I understand that he made a mistake by ordering the product, but the toll his mistake has taken on him has been detrimental to his health and well being. Health Center's practices in my opinion are unethical, and unprofessional. They were scornful , aggresive and disrespectful.
