I was an Agent for Mega from April 2007 to September 2007. I surpassed all their preset goals. Watched as the DM would push the new agents to write anyone. They just wanted the numbers. I watched my (and other agents)clients cancel as they found out more about the policies. I watched until I found that what the DM's were telling me about the policies was completely false(they didn't do it intentionally they believed it themselves). I stopped selling right then and there. When telling my DM, he mentioned that I was not responsible for the back end (about $13,000). He said there was nothing HealthMarkets could do about it. I've been getting collection calls and letter from someplace called CreditWatch. But I've been told that CreditWatch is just a front company for HealthMarkets to help collect from unsuspecting agents. They started in about December 07. Its August 08 now, I think if they could do something they would have by know. Two months ago I spoke to another agent that is now a DM. He also reiterated that HeathMarkets could not do anything about it. He also mentioned that HealthMarkets is going down the tubes. The following is an email from a national trial attorney: What can Cornerstone do? It can't sue because it's not a corporation. Mid-West or Health Markerts would have to sue. Would Mid-West, HM sue? Not likely. I've never seen it happen. If it did, I would come to (name withheld) rescue. If it did, in the lawsuit it would have to reveal the dark secrets about how retention is determined, how commissions are determined, and who gets the money these poor former agents feel pressured to pay. No way they would open themselves up to that kind of audit!
