Helen Hunt Elementary Bullying, Harassment ,Dr. Howard. Beyond the School, Helen Hunt Dist 11 colorado springs, Colorado

My grandson has been a student of Helen Hunt Elementary since 2012. He has been repeatedly physically, verablly   abused , attacked on a daily weekly bases buy certain students who are a constant disruption in the class   a  repeat offender who spends just as much time in the office as he does in the classroom. Last week February 13,2012 I took my daughter and grandson out to a early V-Days dinner. I was sitting next to my grandson and I could see from the side   his nose was swollen and he had a small scratch under his right eye. I asked my daughter what was wrong with his nose., we asked my grandson if he had been hit and said no we asked him again who had hit him.  

He admitted to being jumped from behind after school buy this student. No one  from the school called to inform us he had been assulted although his teacher was the one to break up the fight. We have had issue with her as well.She stated that she was very tried and didn't think to call us. She had 4 unexcused absences on his attendance record and we did not know why his was reported as absence. Still don't know why! My daughter took him to school on Feb. 14 told the teacher she needed to call her. About 11:00-11:1130 I recieved a call from the  school counslor updating me on  what was happening. He told me he had spoken to my grandson and that  the other student was  with Dr. Howard and was waiting on his mother to appear. The boy was not suspended as he returned to class later that day. 

I have been in constant contact with the school the the Deptarmtent of Education since November 2012 regarding thier afterschool program Beyond theSchool Bell.My grandson had been hit again and the teacher told my daughter she needed to handle the family delicately, so since then I have been inbattled with this school because of the neglect and abuse of the children.There  is too much to say, you would not believe what we have been though. Between the students ,teacher staff we have been abused dismissed and disliked. Please whatever you do do not put your children in thier afterschool programs . And If you do you do does at the risk that it is an unsafe and unstructure program. But as was stated in other post  Dist11 does not respond to parents complaints or concerns. They treat you as though you are the  offender. Dr. Howard has no respect for me as he talks over me he thinks he can read my mind running interference when I am speaking. Just rude condesending, he may have a PH'D n ED but he has not been given the wisdom  or knowledge to read my mind. Because Helen Hunt is a Title One  School which  means the famlies it serves are economically depressed, dysfunctionable  we have no goals and are down right trash and let me know  what a horrid place Helen Hunt was . That is  the message I got when I met with Dr. Howard. What is horrid is the place our educational system  is in.FWIW If you truly want to get a solution you have to file charges with the police detp. against the parents. but I doubt most parents will go that far. That is why they do what they do.Maybe if enough parents get together we can make a difference.
