Randy is essentially running a ponsy scheme. He is always looking to get "investors" and goes as far as asking parents of residents (who have already spent 2,800 a month for up to 12 months) for upwards of 100,000 when they graduate (yes, this happened to me) and PROMISES a wonderful return on their investment, which he cannot guarentee. When he fails to create the revenue required to pay his investor back on time, he goes out and cons somebody else to invest, and then pays the initial investor with the secondary investment and so on. 

Randy has been quoted stating that he goes to one AA meeting a year, and believes that people who do continue regular meeting attendance are "sad individuals who drink gallons of coffee and smoke packs of cigarettes." First of all, those who attend meetings daily after many years are not there for them, they are there for the newcomer, and are typically the happiest person in the meeting. Randy also will only sponsor somebody who has over 10 years of sobriety, thus, self-reliant. Randy preaches AA like he wrote the Big Book, but anyone in AA knows that it is not the words out of a persons mouth but their actions that matter. He is a dry drunk, and should not be trusted. 

He is very personable, and will use fear to convince parents that HERO is the ONLY way to keep your child sober. He constantly uses fear and the rhetorical tool of pathos to keep parents doling out money. He will tell you over and over again how anyone and everyone who leaves HERO will relapse and do terribly. I know many people who have left and are sober and doing wonderful. I also know many people who have graduated and relapsed. Also, no house will keep someone sober, if someone wants to use they will use, it has nothing to do with graduating HERO. Oh, and 80% success rate? My friends and I (other graduates) have done the real math, the success rate is more like 20%. We believe the reason for the 80% is because HOPE Homes has an 80% success rate, thus they have to lie to be competitive. 

WHEN YOU ENTER HIS PROGRAM, YOU BECOME A DOLLAR SIGN. 


Oh, and I graduated HERO House, have been sober since, sponsor people, have a 3.0 in college, and none of that is because of HERO. Thank god I went to some other kick ass programs before HERO that taught me how to function in the world, and how to tolerate tyrants. because had I gone straight to HERO I would have relapsed for sure, they just do not teach you what you should learn. They do not let you make your own decisions and they do not offer the "safe environment" they advertise. You are told what is good and what is bad, you are told what you can and cannot do. Just me, personally, I am one who has to go experience and then decide what is right for me and my sobriety. 

Parents, spend money wisely and do whats best for your child, do not send them to HERO House. You WILL be lied to, taken advantage of, and ripped off. HERO is a great idea, but thats just it, an idea. 

Wow, it truly makes me happy that other people see what a lying sack of shit randy truly is. All he cares about is money, he talks like he knows about addiction he is just a lying b***ard. He puts some dumba** people to run his stupid shitty houses that are not remotely worth nearly 2 grand a month were talking 24 grand a year. Enough to pay for your childs college tuition. Please people look at hero house through those terms. Recovery isn't easy, and hero house makes it harder on your kid. Simple as that. These people tell you you cannot have a girlfriend, can't have sex, can't do anything, can't be your own human being. And being a puppet for a fa**ot named Kelly, who too is a sh**ty person to be around and be a Gestapo around addicts considering he has never been through addiction himself. As to the report from dumba** whoever talking about Randy's godlike caring of other people just completely false, greedy Jewish bastard. Terrible person who claims to have ridden a sea turtle with his god given ability to control wild animals. His stories are as bulls**t as his personality, life and existence. Truthfully the largest d**che bag in the history of d**che bags. Will burn in h**l for his greediness, and because karma is a b**ch. Please keep your kids away from hero house. It's run by nazis and just bad people and the owner sits back and collects his money sitting on his little Napoleon a** in California. Truly sickening and as for him not caring about making money...to charge people to 2000 bucks to live in a 110000 dollar house with like 6 other people in a s**t house. Not worth it even to step through the door

Randy Haveson brags about his " speaker of the Year" awards and that's all he really is, a speaker. We all know that in the business and practice of recovery, it's not the speakers who make a difference, IT'S THE DOERS. In my view and from experience in dealing with him, Randy Haveson is s user of people who wants to make a lot of money without any effort to earn it. His agenda is only to talk people into giving him their money and their " Implied power of attorney " to tell you and you rkids what should happen with them and to them. This sick person is serious about controlling others and exerting power over them. Randy is a very sick person. I do not recommend this program to other parents like me.

I have been working for Randy for a long time  and have witnessed his integrity first hand. If a student is not following rules, is not serious about their recovery and is creating a negative impact on the community they are asked to leave the program to maintain the integrity of the program. Randy would rather have one or two clients who are serious about their recovery than a house full of students who are not serious - even if it means making zero or less than zero profit for the company - which I have seen since I've worked there. He'd rather not make any money at all than keep students who need a higher level of treatment because keeping them would do a disservice to the community and to the client who needs more serious care. When such students are asked to leave they tend to act out in various ways, such as writing several ripoff reports under different aliases.
