WE TOOK OUR KIA SEPHIA IN BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. WE DID NOT TELL THEM TO TAKE THE CAR APART AND PUT IT ON A MACHINE WHICH COST US $85.00 AND THEN THEY SAID IT WAS GOING TO COST $870.00 TO FIX THE CAR AND NONE OF IT WAS COVERED UNDER A WARRENTY THAT WE DID NOT HAVE. THE CAR CAME FROM ANOTHER LOT WE HAD FORUND OUT IT WAS A HUNK OF JUNK FROM ANOTHER STATE AND HAD A TON OF PROBLEMS THE FRONT AXELS NEED TO BE REPLACED. AND THEY JUST WONT DO IT AND WE FOUND OUT THAT ALL THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS IS A DIRTY AIR FILTER A STUPID $10.00 DOLLAR PART NOT $870.00 THEY SAID IT NEEDED AN O.2 SENSOR AND A FUEL SENSOR THE INJECTORS CLEANED OIL AND FILTER CHANGED NEW PLUGS. AND THEY WOULD EVEN WASH IT AFTER I PAID THE $85.00 I DID NOT EVEN GET A FREE WASH AND IT SMELL LIKE A DEAD FART IN MY CAR.
THOSE MACANICS ARE NOT EVEN CERTIFIED TO WORK ON CARS MY SON USED TO WORK THERE AND THEY STEAL PARTS OFF NEW CARS TO PUT ON THE OLD ONES. THEY DONT EVEN CHECK THEM OUT PRPERLY BEFORE THEY SELL THEM OR I WOLD NOT HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR FOR 4490 MILES AND THEY TELL ME THIS LIE THAT ALL THIS IS WRONG WITH THIS CAR. THE DAY MY HUSBAND BROUTH THE CAR HOME IT HAD A BAD SHAKE IN THE FRONT END BUT THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT. THEY STILL HAVE NOT DONE IT. THAN THE NEXT DAY THEY BROUGHT US IN AND RE-WROTE THE CONTRACT GAVE IT TO US CHEPER AND TOOK THE WARRENTY OFF IT WITHOUT US RELIZING IT. WE GOT SCREWED. NOW WE HAVE A CAR WITH LOTS OF PROBLEMS AND WE ARE TAKING THEM TO COURT. DONT TRUST KIA FOR A MOMENT. OR THERE SMILES. WATCH OUT THEY ARE BUZZERDS!!!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND LAUGH WHILE THEY ARE DOING IT....

The light was on. How did you think they were going to find out what set it? They had to use their scanner, and you knew this. You also knew it wasn't FREE.

Not going to happen. The light ONLY comes on because there is an emissions problem, no other reason. The air filter would have to be packed so solid with dirt that the engine would not even run, for it to be an issue at all.

Why would they wash it? You got a diagnostic service...nothing else. As for the odor problem, that comes from the long term effects of the person(s) who occupies the vehicle regularly. Mechanics smell pretty rank after a few hours of working, and I have never heard of one who caused the upholstery to reek. Again, the smell comes from whoever sits in the vehicle regularly.
You wanted CHEAP, and you got it. There is no CHEAPer vehicle made than a Kia, and the Sephia is only slightly less crappy than the Rio.
