I ordered a Sony digital camera for what was a very good price (I should have known!). They stated on their website (which miraculously doesn't exist anymore) that for my protection, they would send me an e-mail explaining how I should pay for this transaction. They sent me the following e-mail on 06/23/08:

==========

How to make payment for your Order:
Make payment for your order using GreenDot money transfer service. To make payment for your order you need to purchase a Green Dot MoneyPak at a retail location near you(GreenDot is available at major retailers nationwide, including WalMart, CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Longs Drugs, Kroger, Ralphs, Meijer and more)

1. Visit a GreenDot retail location near you.

2. Purchase a GreenDot MoneyPak in the prepaid section of the store for the exact amount of your order.
(Example: If you purchase a Nintendo Wii Console, then you will buy a MoneyPak for $150.00)

3. After you have purchase the MoneyPak, reply to this email with the MoneyPak Number (found on the back of the packaging or receipt look for a set of numbers that start with the number 9) to make payment for you order.

After we have receive your payment your order will be ship out the next Business day via UPS 4-6 days Free and you will receive email confirmation with UPS tracking number.

Thank you for shopping with us!

HighResolutionCams.com, customer care team!
Important Note: Be sure to pick up the GreenDot MoneyPak for $4.95 and not the GreenDot Prepaid card for $9.95.

I then received the following e-mail on 06/25/08:

Needless to say, I never received a shipping confirmation e-mail and any & all attempts to contact them have been fruitless.

This type of behavior infuriates me & I would like to meet the perpetrators face-to-face. In my opinion, people like this are the scum of the earth. I'm certainly not the first person they have ripped off. I came across this discussion on the web:

I certainly don't expect any justice, but I'd like to help make sure no one else experiences the same. Thank you Ripoff Report for making this available to consumers.
