The information provided in this report is based on comments made by Scott Langdon during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward Higher Visibility.
Higher Visibility is an online marketing firm that specializes in SEO (search engine optimization) for businesses both large and small, "we have Fortune 1,000 companies as clients, and we have a local plumber as a client. Essentially our business model is clients coming to us seeking a way to get their website to rank higher on the internet. Once they sign on we go in and make changes to their website, and then do link building, which is getting other websites to link back to their website as a way to help them reach high ranking on search engines.
Since Higher Visibility is a marketing company when it comes to developing a clientele, "we practice what we preach. We do a lot of advertising on the internet to bring leads in for our own business. We also get a lot of word of mouth type leads as we're listed with a lot of publications such as Forbes, Inc., and Huffington Post. That brings us a lot of leads as well because these publications view us as an expert in our industry." Mr. Langdon then went on to describe the sales process for a potential client, "when a potential client comes to us we try to learn about what their business objectives are. If they need sales immediately we try and push them into advertising programs that make more sense for their business, such as traditional advertising on the search engines. Now if they have longer term objectives we tend to push them more onto the SEO type products because it really has the best return on investment in the long term for their business. HigherVisibility, LLC. Customer Care & Complaint Resolution
During the onsite interview, Scott Langdon was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Mr. Langdon went onto explain that miscommunications are their main source of complaints, "there are a lot of people that have been burned by SEO companies in the past and so their very skeptical. So when things aren’t necessarily moving in the right direction immediately they start to get a little skittish. How we have to combat that is to do a better job of educating them through the process. To get them to understand why we’re doing what we’re doing and what positive impact it will have on their website in the future." Mr. Langdon went on to explain that, "I always take everything very seriously. So I always try to give my perspective, and any additional insight that I can provide to the client to help better educate them. And if we can’t come to an understanding from that perspective we consider all options even letting them out of their contract if that’s what the best fit is." In order to avoid these miscommunications Higher Visibility values educating their staff, as well as having a Director of Client Services on staff to maintain client relations.
When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Langdon stressed once again the importance of education, "it's always going to go back to education. So obviously we have set processes in place, and there proven. We built our reputation on it, which is why we are featured in the publications we are featured in. If there is ever a complaint or a feeling of neglect we just need to do a better job of educating throughout the process from start to finish, and we are always continuously tweaking our messaging so that there are no misunderstandings." Mr. Langdon went on to list the several accreditations that Higher Visibility holds including: Google certified partner, Bing certified, and being featured in several publications, "we've really built our reputation on being a leader in the industry, and want to remain so by offering great service.”
When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to make things right with the customer per the request of Ripoff Report, Mr. Langdon stated, "going back to education again whenever we get a new complaint, luckily we don’t have too many, we review each complaint to see what the underlining issue is. If we're not clearly displaying the appropriate information to certain individuals we try to change our processes to try and make sure we don’t have future instances with other clients so that there are no more misunderstandings.”
Higher Visibility is pleased to be a part of Ripoff Reports Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Customer Satisfaction Program. Mr. Langdon further explains by stating, "I think it’s important to show that we care about what the consumers think about our business by responding to any complaints that might arise. Being a part of the Corporate Advocacy Program shows that we take this very seriously.” HigherVisibility, LLC. / Statement from the Managing Partner Adam Heitzman "

There are many differing opinions on whether or not you need to hire an outside SEO agency to help you with your SEO, but ultimately it all boils down to timing. There are times in a company’s life that an SEO agency isn’t necessary, and in fact it could do more harm than good. It’s all about being able to recognize the warning signs that now is the time you might need help, and maybe in-house work just isn’t cutting it. Consider some of these warning signs below. Some obvious signs it’s time to hire an SEO agency
STATED IMPROVEMENTS FROM HIGHERVISIBILITY
- You’re considering a redesign.
If you have an already established website and are thinking about a redesign, it’s important you consider SEO right away. There are several navigation issues and different layouts/ formats that are better for SEO than others, so it’s best you get this right during your initial redesign. Even if you just want to hire an SEO agency to help you with your redesign, it is crucial to make sure you don’t skip any steps when it comes to keeping SEO in mind.
- You don’t know why your rankings are dropping.
This is probably one of the biggest reasons it’s time to work with someone or a team of people. If your rankings keep dropping (even if it’s just for one keyword or category), the sooner you can figure it out the better. If you can’t figure it out on your own, an SEO agency can help make sure you solve the problem before it gets worse.
- Your in-house team can’t keep up.
If you have a lot of tasks you need done and quickly, sometimes an in-house employee or team isn’t going to be able to cut it. You don’t necessarily need to replace your in-house team with an agency, but consider hiring an agency for certain tasks or having them work together so that everything can get done when and how it needs to get done.
- Your efforts are booming and you can’t handle the demand.
This goes right along with the last point, except instead of just thinking about your in-house SEO team you are thinking about your entire company (especially for those who don’t have an in-house team). If your SEO is so successful, you might find that managing your campaigns or your blog is too much work happening too fast.
Some not so obvious signs it’s time to hire an SEO agency
- You read about SEO news from last week and had no idea.
SEO moves fast, so you have to move fast with it. Reading about the latest SEO news and Google announcements is crucial to make sure that you’re A). Getting a well-rounded picture of what’s to come in the SEO industry, and B). That you don’t miss something important you need to do to stay white-hat. You would be surprised at just how often Google adds a new feature or gives advice about an old one that would help you immediately.
In short, if you learn about something major that actually happened last week and you didn’t even know about it, it might be time to hire an agency. SEO agencies will make sure that you don’t miss any opportunities because you waited too long to realize there was an opportunity in the first place.
- You making sacrifices because you can’t quite figure out how something works.
Oftentimes company owners look this point over because one or two things you can’t figure out isn’t a big deal. You aren’t going to be able to know everything, so if something has to get pushed to the side because you can’t figure it out it doesn’t mean your SEO is going to fail. However, if you find that this keeps happening time and time again, your SEO could suffer. As I once mentioned in an SEMRush post, “This can refer to anything SEO related—a landing page you wanted, a cool video you wanted to embed, a great navigation idea you have, etc. Remember, you can bring your own thoughts to an SEO agency if you just can’t seem to figure them out on your own.”
- You’re becoming a jack-of-all-trades.
This is an idea I got from HubSpot to round out the top 10 signs. If you’re finding that you’re the person who does it all but you’re not actually the master at one thing, it could mean that you’re spread too thin. It’s great to have a handle on multiple departments or initiatives, but it’s best if each person has one area of expertise. This will help make sure that each aspect of your business is getting the full and correct amount of attention and that each department is growing and getting advanced. If you’re a jack-of-all-trades, this kind of detail just isn’t happening, and that goes for your SEO efforts.
So when should you not seek help? Of course, if you don’t find that your company falls into any of the issues mentioned above you probably don’t need SEO help right now. Aside from only this, you also have to make sure you have your goals in order and you have a solid team in place. If you aren’t sure what you want your company to accomplish, optimization will be very difficult and expensive (in fact, it’s not recommended you even worry about SEO until you know your company goals). At the start, an SEO agency simply won’t be worth it for a lot of companies.
If you do ultimately decide that you’re ready to hire an agency, you’re in for a world of research. Hiring the right agency can be tough, especially if you don’t know much about SEO yourself. This makes asking the right questions and doing the right research crucial.”

We believe this report is a fake created by a competitor. We have no client past or present that that is named Jenny Finche out of Houston, TX. This name is very similar to the former USA softball player that resides in Houston. We some client's that have paid $80,000+ with us, but all have been satisfied clients, hence the reason they spent $80,000 with us. As far as the mentions of awards sites, it appears to be a clear attack to De-legitimatize our accolades. We have numerous awards and press mentions by top tier publishers like Forbes, INC, Entrepreneur, etc.. NOW TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED
We hired HigherVisibility in April of 2012. After beating them up on price and the amount of services to be provided, we felt good about the project going in. About 60 days into the process we noticed that we had dropped organic ranking with Google on every single keyword that we had hired them on.
We contacted Google to investigate why we had dropped organically. We have friends within Google that researched it and gave us a report. Turns out that they have been using "BOTS" to randomally create false links and and generating fake back-links.
According to Google, Google penalizes such activity which resulted in us dropping in organic view. We presented the results to HigherVisibility, they did not respond. Instead they sent us another bill even though we disputed their efforts and notified them to stop services.
We hired an outside firm to report the work performed by HigherVisibility, they came back with an alarming report. They notified us that the following services were not performed as per contract, No Sponsored blog posts, No social book marking, No blog consulting, No social book marking icons, No web design, No conversion tracking, No indication of article writing and syndication, They also did not perform on the the number of keywords as per contract. Majority of the backlinks and URLS came out to be dead links/urls.
We contacted our attorneys to demand our money back. They countered with a lawsuit for around $22,000 for the services they did not perform but rather tried to collect on. They had their bank call me which is in bed with this company. We have since taken them to Superior Court of Washington State. I will keep you posted on the progress.
