I am writing in regards to my travel voucher for my recent stay on 3/7/09-3/9/09 at the Best Tahoe West Inn @ 4107 Pine Blvd. South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. My family and I arrived at the inn and were checked in and given a room that was disgusting and filthy! The beds were made but contained other guests' hair under the blankets, on the sheets, and pillow cases. We were moved to another room upon my request. This room was even worse than the first room. We were not able to close shut the door or lock it. A refrigerator repairman was sent up to our to fix the door who informed us he was not a regular employee there but lives there to help his buddy's mom who is the manager. It took him 45 minutes to fix the lock.
After that was taken care of, there were additional problems. I inspected the face and hand towels provided near the sink basin and saw a pubic hair on one towel while the other had a large blood stain, clearly not fully washed clean.
Accomodations at the Best Tahoe West Inn was absolutely atrocious! We ended up checking out 1 day early and booked a night at another hotel that we paid for. Holiday Travel of America's advertisement is false regarding this hotel. I have another voucher from Shell Vacations and have paid my deposit/tax for another trip scheduled for Cabo San Lucas (Certificate # 400461). I have requested my deposit for my Cabo San Lucas trip to be returned to me paid in full. I am awaiting for a response from Holiday Travel of America as I have sent an email to them. I have not received a live person to speak to from my many attempts to call and speak with them!

I have since been contacted by HTOA regarding my complaints. HTOA were very accomodating and have since offered me another voucher to a 4 star hotel, accomodations paid for. I have also received my deposit as requested for my Cabo San Lucas trip.
