Holiday Travel Of America RIP-OFF promised $50 Gift Certificate and Travel Voucher Carlsbad California

I was awarded a $50 for a choice of several restaurants. I followed their instructions exactly including all the required information (copy of ID, Check for $5.95 and certify mail at $4.64). Verified and checked that all was send in the envelop before sealing. As I had read up an numerous compliants with this company.

Sure enough, mysteriously my ID copy did not make it to their processing center. (Why I can not tell you, but I can fax you everything that I mailed to them. How they process is probably intentional to keep from paying out these $50 cerfiticates).

I received a letter that states my request is void and that I can not reprocess the request because I did not submit valid copy of a government ID that has been issued to me. Now, with no explaination from them as to how they process these requests, they could have slit open the envelop and misplaced my copy of the ID that I sent. I knew that I would never get this $50 certificate but it was worth a try.

This copy is a scam. I did not even try to submit the travel for 3days to Vegas as I have read up that they take your $50 processing fee and you never get a trip.

Something needs to be done with this scam. Because they clearly get out of not making good on mysterious errors (missing paperwork) that the consumer can not prove as they are not there when the envelop is slit open to verify where the papers are put. They simply give you a statement of: We are sorry, but resubmissions will not be accepted.

This could simply be fixed by allowing a fax of the "missing" information to be sent since they are charging a phenomial fee of $5.95 for processing. The $5.95 processing fee should be clarified with "we intentionally misplace all your paperwork fee."

I participate in numerous rebates with many companies and have always received them as I follow instructions completely. Almost all do not carry a processing fee. In addition, if there is an error - you are allowed to correct it.

I am very disappointed that Holiday Travel of America misplaced my docmuents and I am not allowed my award!
