Hollywood Wireless is a total scam. Jay Pratt aka Jack Danny is a fabricator of having a legitimate business when nothing could be further from the truth. Save yourself the aggravation and refuse to do business with him.
The address he provided for his wireless store is an empty storefront in Houston, MS. The landlord who has the nail salon next door told me that Jay approached him about renting the location, but no lease was ever signed and even though this is not his store location, Pratt Wireless claims this address as their business location.
On his twitter page, the picture of the store seems to have been lifted from AT&T due to the color scheme and layout. Hollywood Wireless' website which is hollywoodwireless.net was down when he called and the front page had a warning page from his hosting provider that the site was down due to non payment.
Any number that I found for Hollywood Wireless or Pratt Wireless in the Houston, MS & Tupelo, MS area were never answered (probably because he knew it was me on the caller ID) or went to voice mail boxes that were full or not set regardless of the time of day that I called. He only answered the phone before he sent the check for the order.
The toll free number I found for Hollywood Wireless rings to an older gentleman in the Carolinas who had no idea why the toll free number was ringing to his phone and had no knowledge of Hollywood Wireless or Jay Pratt. Pratt provided another address for delivery 328 N Jefferson St Houston, MS which appears to be a storefront for a mini mart.
How is it Hollywood Wireless Pratt Wireless a scam? He ordered office supplies with a bum check. The check was returned and I had to pay a bank fee for this item. He never followed through in making matters right in the form of the payment.
He contacted me about getting some business supplies and needed them delivered quickly. I explained that he could order through the online store or I could take his credit card over the phone. He said he preferred doing business by check. This was a red flag, but I ignored it and replied that it would only delay his order being processed by several days.
I didn't hear from him for a couple of months and forgot about the initial flags of website issues and not wanting to pay with a credit card. At this point he was ready to place the order and I reminded him of the delay if he paid by check and told him I could take a credit card over the phone, but he declined. He sent the worthless check right away and because I was very busy at the time, I did not have a chance to deposit it until 3 days later. He called me the day after I deposited the check to find out about his order later told him I was processing it.
I figured if he went to the trouble of sending the check, I shouldn't penalize him by waiting another week from the time that I deposited the check so I moved forward with the order. Several days later, I received a notice that the bank was charging me a fee for a chargeback. I thought it was related to a disputed card transaction and didn't find out until two days later when I received the check from Pratt Wireless in the mail. It had a Refer to Maker stamp on it and his Tennessee bank couldn't provide me with any information besides that.
It appears that a check with that marking doesn't cost anything whereas a stop payment would and it isn't technically a Not Sufficient Funds case.
Nothing about this person makes any sense: with the twitter page and false pictures of the store and alleged corporate parties at their supposed headquarters. The picture was copy and pasted from a gala not related to Hollywood Wireless; the nonexistant webpage, wrong phone numbers, fake addresses, and the rest.
After a couple of wasted hours, I was able to track him down at one of the phone numbers. He said it was a mistake and that he would look into it and get back to me before he quickly hung up. I was never able to reach him again and as you can guess, he never called back.
Other names given of people that work at Hollywood Wireless Jaycee Pratt, Charlene Pratt, and Jack Danny.
