I applied online for a car loan and was watched by holmes motors. They called me and they said I was preapproved. I told them my situation and that I lived about an hour away and didn't wanna waste my time and money by driving there if I wasn't going to leave with a car. They said they work with hundreds of banks and they'd have a program for me. So I took a day off work and went to Mississippi. I got told I'd be able to get approved with cosigner. after several hours, and leaving and coming back after i was told it'd be only an hour, i was told that the first cosigner wasn't going to be approved so i'd have to use my father. they came back with the figures and told me that i'd been approved for only two cars. one was being serviced and the other a 2005 chrysler pacifica for $17000 interest rate of 25% but after 6 months i could refinance, take my dad off loan and get an interest rate of half. the carsalesman wrote it down. that night i called and said that it wasn't sounded too kosher and that if they couldn't change the terms that i probably couldn't get the car. after thinking about it i called carsalesman and told him i would be getting the car but to please try to get the monthly pmts lowered. come monday, i called and they said the car had been sold and i'd said i didn't want it. carsalesman calls back saying car was still there and they'd need all our information faxed and i could pick the car up the next day. my dad faxed his stuff and i faxed mine but i called to make sure i could pick up the car the next day but they said no. the carsalesman took the next day off, the day after the "final sale" and the day the papers were supposed to be fedexed to my dad to be signed. i could pick the car up in 3 days. the following day the papers still hadnt been sent because the carsalesman had lost my info. the papers would be sent the next day. i asked them to put the terms in writing and the finance manager said no way...that's up to the bank. i was told the papers had been mailed out but they still hadn't been mailed out. they actually did get mailed out on thursday but i'd thrown my hands up at holmes motors and given up on them. i found a car on friday and was financed by myself with no hassle. the papers didn't arrive to my dad until monday, a week after they were supposed to be there. they had run my credit 3 times to get me financed but i'm still getting letters of denial and it's been almost two months since then. my dads credit score decreased by over 30 points in the couple times they ran his credit. they are probably trying to ruin my credit because i didn't follow through with the car from them
