This company charged me over $3000 and promised me the world.  I was guaranteed that my interest rate would be dropped to a 2% for the life of the loan and a guarantted a principal reduction.  I was also quoted that my payment would not exceed $750 per month which would include the principal, interest taxes and insurance.  My original payment was $1850, so to me this sounded like a no brainer! I could save over $1000 per month on my mortgage, who in their right mind would pass that up right?  After months passing with no word from any employees of Home Affodable Direct I had to start calling them at least oncve a week to ensure that my file was being worked. 

It seemed as if everytime I called they would blow steam up my a** to get me off the phone and that my case was just sitting there.  About a month after my weekly calls I was requested to send in documentation which I had sent in a 100 times previously, which made me believe they had lost my file all together and had to start over from scratch. [continued below]....

.....  I can understand my income documents and what not but the same exact forms that I have completed several times previous...is it really necessary? 

Well after 8 months of dealing with this company i finally got a "trial agreement" stating i was approved for a modification.  Now as a reminder I was told my payment would not be over $750 per month and my original payment prior to signing up with Home Affordable was $1850, this "trial agreement told me my payment per month was now $2150!!! What did I pay these people for?  I called to complain and asked to speak to the owner Javier.  I was informed he was out of the office but was ensured that as soon as he got in that the representative Deborah would ensure that Javier call me right away to discuss my case and how upset I was. 

Several days had past and the deadline to accept this trial offer was fast approaching and I had yet to here from Javier so I called in again.  I was informed that again Javier was out of the office and when i asked for Deborah was advised that she is out on medical leave but that since my file has been approved the file is considered closed in their office.  I am now in a situation where I am doing everything i can to muster up every penny and dime in order to pay this modified payment, which raised my payment, so I can keep my children in the home they have made all their memories. 

I hope and pray that there are not too many others like me who have let Home Affordable Direct and their lies and deception take adavantage of them.  They promise you the world, all I got from Home Affordable Direct is my world crashing down around me.  They are a bunch of scam artsits and could care less about the honest hard working people out there.  Be aware people please do not pay them any money!! I also found out after doing some further resaech it is ILLEGAL for them to accept any form of payment prior to receiving an agreement.  This is only my fist step, I am determined to set this straight and pray to god to get my money back.  I do not know how these people can sleep at night knowing that they are scaming hard working people who honestly need help!

Here at HOME AFFORDABLE DIRECT we take customer complaints seriously, we encourage our clients to contact us directly to solve any issues as they can be different case by case. There are many elements to the modification process, if the payment increases many factors come into play, such as:

- Deferred Payments being added to the loan amount

- Escrowed taxes and insurance being added to the payment

- Interest only loans becoming both Principal  & Interest payments

The end result is to avoid foreclosure by re-instating the homeowner’s mortgage. This seems to be the case in the above referenced complaint.
