Citibank is one of the most corrupt banks in the country. They literally changed my address in their system (after 6 months of paying 20x the min.) on my 1-year interest free Home Depot purchase. When I finally did get this all figured out (end-of-year accounting audit), they [Citi] had added a huge interest and penalty fine. Of course, they refused to admit responsibility nor negotiate settlement. Their stance is, "... tough, pay up or your credit will be effected!"

My response to Citi - "KISS MY A$$!"

I will not pay these lying thieves, and since I've OPTED-OUT of the whole CREDIT-FICA scam, they can eat cake!

The only reason these scumbag companies get away with this crap is because most people don't have the guts to tell them: "it's either my way or the highway."

Unfortunately, every time we concede to their demands, it emboldens them. They continue running these scams with impunity.

Hence, today our Credit & FICA scores are used as the 'Big Bat' ... every move we make is based on this tyrannical grading system. Who's fault is that - OURS!

OPT-OUT and KILL THE BEAST!

Easy credit a to z

AUTHOR: Seriously - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, September 18, 2011

I honestly don't understand what you are upset about == when you open the credit card and when you make purchase the terms are clearly outlined " no interest if paid in full with in 12 months" every statement tells you exactly what to pay and by when, to avoid interest on the card and let's you know if you do not pay it in full you will be billed the interest from date of purchase for the entire 12 months. There are no hidden charges. Are the charges outrageous? Yes, they are but you make the choice to borrow the money and at what cost. If you don't want to pay interest don't borrow more than you can payback during the promotional period. Lastly I don't understand the address comment and where it comes into play. What happened you didn't get a statement in the mail so you thought you didn't owe anything? There is no such thing as an end of the year audit that would cause you have interest did you just make that part up? Please do explain!

You are correct ... me bad ... FICO is correct! Will update my spellchecker!

And Yes ... lots of blame to go around. I'm surely not going to defend stupidity (i.e. credit addiction, living beyond our means, etc.). But, neither am I going to stop the rant against the machine, nor people that feed it!

Thanks again!

I just have to laugh

Okay..at first not sure if you were combining rants, just mis-typed it, or really have no idea what you are talking about. But as you expanded on your psychotic rant it seems as if it may be a lack of knowlege.

FICA = Tax (Federal Insurance Contributions Act)

FICO= Credit Score (actually it stands forFair Isaac COmpany)

By the way I actually fundamentally agree with you that people need to live within their means, and people not doing that isat theroot of a lot of the current problems.

OPT-OUT and KILL THE BEAST!!!

Bman in Philly ... sorry to hear of your similar situation.

I'm neither rich nor poor [financially], and I have a feeling that Citibank doesn't care. They know their aren't any rules anymore in the USA, so they are free to exploit anyone and everyone ... except their criminal cohorts in D.C.

But I digress. The important lesson I want to stress here, is the fact that we ordinary people REALLY do have the power to stop all of this criminal exploitation.

1. If you do use credit, use it wisely. Abide by the original terms (the ones that are clearly explained and disclosed - not the hidden ones). And hold the company to the same terms.

2. If the company (i.e. Citibank) attempts to swindle you ... REFUSE! Be fair, but be FIRM. Do not be intimidated! Do not settle for their lump sum payment scam! Do everything in writing and express to them that they should do the same.

3. If they threaten 'credit bureau terrorism' ... laugh at them and tell them you 'OPTED-OUT OF THAT SCAM'. Do it in writing, do it early, and do it often!

Remember, the only reason this whole CREDIT-FICA SCAM has worked so well for so long (meaning only the last 30 to 40 yrs.) is because WE [you and I] allowed it to happen.

So what if your credit score is dinged ... it's not the end of the world! Unless you intend to live the next 10+ years in servitude to these 'Credit-Slumlords'.

What is the very worse that can happen?

a. OMG, I have to live within my means ... OH the humanity!

b. OMG!!! I have no CC debt, no car payments ... OH the humanity!

Remember:

I Totally Agree!

I too have experienced many changes as a result of the Home Depot/ Citi Card duality since when you call HD they say it is CITI, and when you call Citi they say it is HD that is in charge! I had their wonderful offer of interest for a year, and then they accumulate the interest and if the total amount isnt paid off in full they heap on the accrued interest in my case about $900. That is not the worst of it since when this happened they then shut the account down without notice and was charging me a hefty interest on a card they would not let me use! Luckily I just paid them off THIS MONTH and will never use a credit card again! It is a crime to do what they do to lasso people in and then hope they fail so they can then exploit them. They know poor people want to keep good credit so they have a better chance to collect from poor folk than middle and upper class Americans. I am still pissed off!
