I had a one year no interest card, pushed on me by a Home Depot salesperson who would make a commission. I did not take notice that the one-year grace period on the Home Depot Credit Card expired and was charged an outrageous sum on the 13 month bill. I think that Home Depot Credit should have notified me and others of the terms of the interest free credit card before they gouged me with their interest,
I'm sure that Home Depot Credit ripped many others off by letting the no interest period slip by. I think that legislation should be enacted to require at notice at least one billing period in advance of the charge.

On that promotion the interest adds up (which is shown on every single one of your statements) and if you do not have that promotional balance paid off by the 12th month, that interest that we've shown adding up on the statement, will be billed to you. Those details are in our terms and conditions which you can access via the homedepot website or you can find them throughout the store.
Also, as i've said, on your monthly statements it showed the interest accruing. If you had that promotional balance paid off before the 12 months, you simply would have never been billed that interest. It's not deceitful and it's not illegal.
Beyond being in our terms and conditions it's simply common sense that nothing is free and promotions don't last forever. As a consumer, responsibility has to be taken to either fully read the terms and conditions or contact our customer service department to make sure you have all the correct information from day 1.
