I proceeded into the store and picked out a entry door 36x80 and two interior doors also 36x80 for a total of $302.46 and used the merchandise credit to pay for the items. that left a balance of $388.73 on my merchandise credit they issues on January 16, 2012. Receipt #3854000981233
After I returned home I realized that the doors I purchased were the wrong size so I returned them to the store with the receipt above and the clerk gave me the merchandise credit back for $302. [continued below]....
I then went right into the store and picked out the right size doors that I needed along with a few other items. The total due was $388.73. I used one of the Merchandise credits I had for $302.46 and then used the original card to pay the balance. That left a merchandise credit for $201.74 on the card. This receipt # 3857 0000487637
On January 20, 2012 I came into the store and purchased several items including three lights for a total of $250.39. I used the remainding Merchandise Credit of $201.74 and then paid the balance with my credit card for $48.65. This receipt#38540000990689
The lights I purchased on Jan 20 were not going to match the color of the kitchen right so I brought them back to the store again with my receipt on January 21, 2012. I gave the clerk my receipt and she rang up the returned and then told me that I was not able to return the items becuase of excessive returns even thos I had my receipts for all of the returns except the original I was being penalized because I had bought the wrong size or colr. She handed me a paper printed form the computer that directed me to call a phone number to discuss the matter. I asked to speak to the manager and I reviewed this matter with him Daryll Sanderson, he said he could see no reason why I should not be able to exchange the otems especially since I had the receipt but that it was not in his control he did try to help me but said basically he was unable to do anything once the system had tunred me down. He directed me to contact the number on the receipt to discuss.
On January 24, 2012 I contacted the number to my surprise it was an outside company that Home Depot uses to handle this issue. She asked me for the transaction number on the receipt I gave it to her then she IMMEDIATLEY started telling me that there was nothing to discuss with her that she would send me a return report but that there was nothing that either her or Home Depot was gong to do to change the situation. She did not want to hear my story or explanation or even care to listen to the fact that I was being flagged inproperly for nothing more than returning items with receipts from a merchandise credit purchase.
I called back to the store and spoke to Daryll Sanderson he did some checking told me the District MAnager was going to contact me but later he called and told me that I was being flagged becuase the Original retunr was with out a receipt and even tho I made some exchanges since then WITH RECEIPTS they flagged.
I certainly understand the issue with making returns with out a reciept and why I may be denied BUT in this case aside from the original return that I did not bring my receipt with me all the returns were done with in 48 hours of purchase and they ALL had the receipts with them yet I was treated like a criminal, embarrassed and humilatated denied a return and the only explanantion the manager could give me was becuase of the return done on Jan 16th with out the receipt was causing me to be flagged.
The service that they use was extremely disrespectful to me and refused to allow me to speak to a manager. I will NEVER again use Home Depot EVER. Menards has a great way to help with lost receipts they have a kiosk in the store as you come in that allows you to swipe your credit card and you can look up all receipts associated with that credit card. Lowes takes your phone number down and you usually can retrieve it with that or if you have your credit card they can look it up.
Buyer Beaware when dealing wiht Home Depot the ironic thing is right over the Customer Service desk it reads No Problem with returns if you change your mind!! Go Figure
