I have purchased thousands of dollars in lawn and garden equipment from the Home Depot. Usually every time I was a sucker and bought their extended service plan.
According to the b.s. the cashier ladels out at the point of sale, it is supposed to be so easy to file a claim. Just call the 800 number and everything will be taken care of.
I have never managed to collect a dime or get one power tool fixed with this racket. The 800 number sends you to a third party warrannty company in India or some other sinkhole third world country.
You will spend countless hours arguing with someone who is 1) trained to be a total jerk
or 2) is indeed completely obtuse.
No matter what you do. No matter how many obstacles they throw at you, and you complete, they manage to find a way NOT to fix or pay off on the contract.
These plans are not worth the paper they are printed on. If I had any choice other the Home Depot, I would NEVER set foot in those stores agin.
