PLEASE be advised, if you now have or have ever been with Home Eq Servicing, watch your transactions and interactions with them very closely!
These people must think that thier customers are completely stoopid....
Our mortgage was placed with them approximately 1 year ago and we have had nothing but grief ever since.
First it started with the Harrassing telephone calls 4-5 times a week at home (which I recorded) and the s/a at my work, calling my job asking for my husband practically every morning.
These people call my home every morning at exactly 8:06am, to ask me where this month's payment is I explain to them that the payment was mailed out to them.
The rep. will then put me on hold and come back after reading comments (he/she will claim) and say, yes we recieved this months payment But when will you be sending next months payment!!!!! We say next month isn't even here yet!
Then they try to pressure/threaten us into giving them a date, when we say to them that it is not yet the next month so payment isn't due they continue to try and get us to set up a check by phone, aka an assisted check by phone with a $15.00 charge.
The nerve of these people, this started last Aug or Sep. 2005, right after they aquired our account from Ameriquest.
When we inquire about the name of the bank which legally holds our mortgage, we are met with resistance. In 8/05, we had a chk returned to us for insufficient funds because the funds were not withdrawn by them in a timely manner.
It was a little over 3 weeks when they attempted to draw the funds so naturally other checks came in and drop the balance in the account.
by then it was time for the next month to be paid, so I called them, and asked if we could just redeposit that check and draw the funds.
They couldn't do that because the check had already went through thier processing so they requested we issue another check for that month's payment in addition a late fee of $48.43.
In addition to, a seperate check for the current months rent I said ok this should clear it up. Before I could complete this
another rep. calls my home when I'm not there and speaks with my husband. Ignores the previously agreed to arrangements
Speaking to him they urged us to set up a payment plan where we would agree pay the current months past due morgage, plus a portion of the missed months mortgage,for the next 3mths. and the company would wave the above late fee.
Needless to say my husband agreed and was put on this SO-CALLED payment plan that resulted in additional fees and increased our reg. payment substantially (FOR THE NEXT 3 MONTHS).
During this time we're getting a barage of certified mail, reg mail, and harrassing phone calls from multiple tel. numbers (caller Blocked) from reps of Home Eq Services, as though we don't have an agreement.
This action put undue financial stress and added fee's upon us.
but at the end of the agreement period, by some miracle we ended up having over paid by approximately $398.00.
At this point where thinking it's just after the major holidays goining into Jan. 2006 and we're ahead for our Jan. payment.
We check our statement thinking we should see a credit for the overpayment of $398.00 during the agreement, and ready to request that it be applied to the next months mortgage payment, decreasing Jan payment by that amount.
SUPRISE SUPRISE, they send us a statement and a letter telling us that they are keeping that overrage as they had to send someone out to our home to view it for forclosure purposes.
Whats amazing is noone ever contacted us about viewing our home nor did anyone to our knowledge ever come out. Also miraculously the fee for that service wasin the amount of our exact overage payment.
In addition to that, they placed smaller fee's on our statement/account and could not or would not explain them, whenever we asked during any of thier harrassment phone calls,
we were told that one was an escrow fee, which is around the s/a amount as our overage payment.
We also have a $336.75 advance fee, what this??? we don't know, a $2.92 fee entitled entitled -other fee, reps have no explanation for.
regarding the so-called escrow fee we informed Home Eq Servicing that we have no ESCROW on our home at least 15 times and they stil continue to harrass us for that fee.
I could go on and on, but I'll stop here. I'll say this between the daily phone calls to my home and my job and the trip to the mail box where we find sometimes up to 3 notices from these people in 1 mail delivery.
Something has got to give. If you or some governing entity have access to, or knowledge of some lawful way to put a stop to these criminals before they ruin our credit so that we can't refinance and be rid of them please contact us immedially at any of the contact forms included with this email.
I have read the report of the other home owner, who is going through identical and worse treatment, with these crooks, and I shudder to think where we will end up.
This company has access to our and others income and personal information and as with the other homeowner I feel that It is not their business, even if they feel that our we can afford to pay
5 times more than we are paying now. We Have the rate and the monthly payment that we have because we worked hard to protect our credit.
These people with thier games, and manipulation tactics will be STOPPED!!!! the hard working American citizens of this nation will not allow this nonsense.
Please contact us if you have a way out from under this company besides refinancing. Our situation should be reviewed by a governing agency and our overage returned to us, and those bogus fees removed from our account history.
**Our next move is to the news media!!!!!
