My experience with Homehunters.net was absolutely the lowest grade customer
service and poorest example of business integrity that I have had to
After speaking with a rep on the phone, and being lied to about the amount of listings they had fitting my criteria (15+), I joined.
In less than 2 hours, and several phone calls later, it became apparent that Homehunters.net only had about 2 - despite the reps continuous efforts to manipulate the criteria and try to display more listings than fit my
Then I had the great experience of attempting to secure a refund. I was informed that the fee was non refundable. That it was in the fine print. That would be great company policy, if the rep had not lied to me.
I would have no problem with it, had I not had been told directly by the rep that they had 15+ listings, only to find out it was not even a reasonable % of what they actually had. That was intention misrepresentation
and deception. I even begged them to see that I had not logged in at all since the first 2 hours, even several days later - because I wanted my money back.
So I did not get my money back, and Homehunters.net got to keep it because they lied to a customer. Had the rep actually told me the true number, and worked with me on the other listings (he was including Jr 1 bedrooms and
apartments that said 'no pets allowed' and also increased the rent price range by $200+) I would have happily continued using the service - but this was not the case.
So I did not get of my money back, Therefore, I hope the $195.00 you still have is worth the negative word-of-mouth 'advertising' I am passing around about how your company operates. I have been telling everyone about your company and it's incredibly poor business practices, and will continue to do so for many years to come. I have since used a service in NJ called xxxxxxxxxxxxx (THANK YOU xxxxxxxxxxxxxx) and have found a large, 7 room, 2 bedroom apartment that accepts small pets in my price range. ( This Company ask me not to put their name in this) The owner is a very wise and professional man. I moved in 11/1 and will make sure that I send any new business among my friends, coworkers, and colleagues to this company. Not only did they provide excellent customer service, and continued follow up, they were honest with me from the start.
In case you don't know, and I know marketing (check my job title at the end of this email), it is a proven statistical average of 350 people that hear about a negative customer service experience within 6 months
after the person begins to share it with their friends, coworkers, and colleagues. That is average, and I consider myself above average - so I intend to dwarf that number considerably, and more so beyond 6 months.
So please enjoy my $195.00 - as it will cost you much more potential business as each day passes and this particular former-customer makes it a personal goal to beat the statistical average and more.
