First of all the Money store is out of business and has been for quite some time. They had extremely high interest rates and were given to those that could not get financed anywhere else! Why would any person purchase a home at 15-25% intrest instead of just renting until you could obtain a better loan. I am frustrated to see so many people say "I got behind on payments" or "This happened to me, and made me get behind." If you waited and saved your money before making sucha large investment then you would never have that problem.
"I lost my job and had to go on employment I got a few payments behind and then there agan I was put on a repayment plan which I had to come up with 3000 dollars and 700 a month, we are talking a 426 dollars a month mortage. I couldn't make those high payments so I was forced to file bankrupsy." ( customer states)
First and foremost, why did you lose your job? If you did indeed lose your job for a situation out of your control, why did you go on un-employment? Being now a single woman I understand you only have the 1 income, but why couldn't you take a job at Hardee's or McDonalds? Do these jobs suck? Indeed yes they do, but if you can't pay your own bills that youmade for yourself then don't sit at home waiting on a check. Get out there and make some $.
What kind of income do you have to make to be financial able to pay 700.00 monthly? I'll show you all you had to bring in....
If you make only 18K a year (typical minimun wage job) you would bring home after taxes approx. 300.00 weekly, 300 X 4 = 1200.00 (this is just 40 hrs weekly) a second job could be picked up.
This budget is based on no car payments ( if you can't afford your home you need to car pool)
1200.00- Monthly Income ( which qualifies you for food stamps)
- 700.00- Mortgage
----------
500.00
-100.00- Cable, TV, PHone (which is not a neccesity, no cell phone included)
---------
400.00
-200.00- Groceries + food stamps (1600.00 for 1 home mnthly- qualifies)
---------
200.00 - Personal loans, credit cards (which you should never have) and any extra expenses.
Bankrupcy is the easy and lazy way out! If you can't afford it, sale it!
"I have paid them over 30000 dollars on a 1982 single wide mobile home."
First of all if you have a trailor that has costed you over 30k then you should have sold out in the first place. If you rented an apartment at 500 mthly it would be 6k yearly with no escrow fees. That would give you an extra 200.00 monthly in your pocket.
I apologize for what happened with your husband, although it's life. How many people do you think have lost a loved one? You've had almost 8 years to get your life together since then. It's time to start working all you can and sale your house if you can't bring in enough money to pay for it. Want to keep the home? get an roomate to pay 350.00 of the 700.00!
