Ripoff Report Verified™ REVIEW:

EDitor’s UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to HonorSociety.org for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Ripoff Report’s discussions with HonorSociety.org have uncovered an ongoing commitment by the company to total client satisfaction. This means that current and prospective members can expect that the organization will work towards finding a mutually satisfactory resolution to any complaints or concerns. HonorSociety.org listens carefully to member concerns and sees them as an opportunity to learn from past mistakes to become more efficient as an organization in the services offered and support for those services.

HonorSociety.org's executive director, Mr. Michael Moradian, informed us that his personal philosophy considers members as the most important resource of HonorSociety. [continued below]....
.....org, and that the society must do everything possible to help members succeed and grow. As a leader, Mr. Moradian feels it is critical to listen to members and respond properly. By always putting members first, Mr. Moradian works to maintain HonorSociety.org as a successful and vibrant society both now and for many years to come.

Another top executive of the organization told us that Mr. Moradian's leadership philosophy is based on the premise that "HonorSociety.org strives to continually add value in its services. The society understands that a successful organizational model is based on exceptional value-added services and member care.” HonorSociety.org's mission statement says it all: "Our goal is to provide our members the best quality, value and professional excellence at all times." Some of the other things Ripoff Report learned in the course of its investigation: typical customer feedback reads: “HonorSociety.org truly communicates all aspects of the society in a timely and effective manner. I am very pleased with the responsiveness exhibited by the member services team. They are serious about meeting commitments and deliver on all their promises.”

The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Ryan Evans during an on-site inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward HonorSociety.org.

HonorSociety.org is an organization specializing in providing guidance to achieve the goal of exceptional students. The organization charges $50 for membership, which covers administrative costs to provide the student with support from the website and access to contacts. Leads are acquired through universities. At that point, an invitation is e-mailed to qualified students, directing them to the HonorSociety.org website where they’re able to watch an informational video and learn about the tools HonorSociety.org can provide. Once a student accepts the invitation, the team at the Honor Society explain the “the tangible steps for students to achieve their goals,” explains Ryan Evans, a representative of the company. The student then fills out a profile, pays the membership fee and is able to start receiving e-mails, redeeming benefits, and obtaining contacts for employers and scholarships.

At times, a student may not feel satisfied with the services they received. “One student asked for a refund, which was promptly given. [The Honor Society] has a no-questions-asked policy. The student did not feel that the Honor Society was a good fit for them since they had already graduated shortly after,” explains Mr. Evans. He further explains that this does happen from time to time. However, due to their no-questions-asked policy, refunds are promptly issued. Students are generally satisfied once this is done. “There is no further follow-up. The student tried the service, determined it wouldn’t work for their purposes and received their refund,” explains Mr. Evans. To ensure the students’ satisfaction, the Honor Society is certified through the National College Honors Council.

Since receiving the complaint on Ripoff Report, HonorSociety.org increased their hours, increased promptness of services provided, added a Frequently Asked Questions section to their site and provided more content. Mr. Evans and HonorSociety.org recognize the value of having Ripoff Report and the Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation & Customer Satisfaction Program’s stamp of approval and state that they are very open to the feedback they receive

Honor Society AKA HonorSociety.org AKA https://www.honorsociety.org/ & www.honorsociety.org ** Clever Scam for $50 *** Looks like a legitimate website Los Angeles California

Website looks legitimate and the company even has a FAQ section on the commonly asked question on whether they are a legitimate company (see below). If you make the mistake of paying them $50.00 you will see that there are no networking tools & no "GradSpring" job boards. The link on their FAQ only verfies that they are a secure website so you can "trust" that they protect your credit card info on theirwebsite as they fraudulently charge you. There are no "college scholarships", "career services" or "member benefits".

I have never fallen for a emailed phishing campaign until I recieved an email from this company who obtained my name & name of university and told me I was nominated for membership in their "Honor Society". Since my GPA was high enough to be at a honors level I believed this was a real company after looking at the website eventhough I was cautious. Once I paid and filled out my profile info I realized the website does not change after logging in. All the content you can see before you pay that talks about the society benefits is exactly the same so you will pay for nothing if you give them your credit card. The website will show you that you are logged in after paying and this is the only difference you will see after paying. Content remains the same. don't make the mistake of getting ripped off and taken.

Want to be sure they are a scam before spending $50?

Send them an email and you will see that you will never recieve a response from them at :E-mail: memberservices@honorsociety.org

They will however confirm that they have recieved your email and will provide an automatic ticket number assigned to your email.

"Are you a legitimate organization?
Yes. Asking about legitimacy is an important and valid question. When choosing to join a society it is important to choose a recognized organization that provides real benefits. HonorSociety.org was established as a technology and benefit driven society. We partner with exclusive services to provide students the tools to succeed. This includes free test prep courses, foreign language classes, career guides, and job listings. The value of all these resources is close to $1,000 per student if purchased individually, but as an society we are able to negotiate special pricing with such exclusive partners. HonorSociety.org membership is a nationally recognized designation with exclusive privileges valued at much more than membership dues ensuring that students get their money's worth.

HonorSociety.org is approved, certified and recognized by many different entities including TRUSTe, the leading web trust certification. This can be verified on the TRUSTe site directly by clicking here."

Fraud Confirmed by Association of College Honor Societies

AUTHOR: Mike - ()

I just recieved an emailed response from the Association of College Honor Societies to my earlier question of if HonorSociety.org is a fraudulent company and here was the response:

Yes. We have determined that they do not meet the Association of College Honor Societies, but we have also found that the Society has committed intellectual property fraud. See http://www.achsnatl.org/informational_alert.asp.
