I heard about Hope for Homeowners Now from my dad, his close friend was working for this company that could modify our home loan, I called him reviewed loan info with him at my dads house and he said we would qualify to drop our house payment, I made an appt to go in and meet with the Owner. Matt Castaneda, We got all doc's required and went into his office December 2008, He ran our information through a dattabase at the office and confermed that we did qualify for the loan modifycation and this would only take 60-90 days and in that time we make no monthly payment.

We would have to pay $1,000.00 to get it all started and $2,999.99 by the time the loan mod would be done. Making no monthly payment and them dropping the payment by four hundred dollars sounded great. The same day we signed up my mother-in law and a family friend went to his office. Both were told by Matt he would be able to lower the payments for them. I contacted Matt at Hope for homeowners every day, asking the progress of the account, wanting to make sure all the information needed for the loan mod was available to them.

There has been more friends and family members that have went to Matt for help with there loan and no one has been helped. Every one has payed him money and no one has got any loan mod done. My mother-in law lost her house to forclosure after putting all of her money and time in to hope for homeowners being able to help her. Now she is living with her family of four, with us and our family of four. My dad has lost his house to forclosure with the same fate with Hope for homeowners now. The other two people who got mixed up in this whole scam are trying to get there refund back. Matt Castaneda also said that we would recieve as long as we signed a release form and wait two weeks. for him to cut a check. Because after all it had been 8 months and the banks had no mods available at the time.

We are now july 31st 2009 and thay refuse to give back our money because thay are waiting for others to pay on there account. Thay have not helped in any way!! We need you to help get our money back, there has to be more people out there.

Help for those effected by Hope for Homeowners Now and a warning for those homeowners who were irresponsible

AUTHOR: Debt Settlement - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, October 24, 2009

On 23 Oct 09 I received a copy and read the contract for Hope for Homeowners Now formerly of 17505 N 79th Ave. Suite 410, Glendale Arizona 85308-8725          (623) 334-4673 and it explicitly states the financial institutions determine the approval and length of time for a  home loan modification. Now unless their was a different contract issued to clients that is the only reason it would change the expectations of a client. And the compication of the initial law firm that processed the loan modifications for Hope for Homeowners Now breached the thier contracts with loan modification companies around the country and they had to hire, train and complete the loan modifications they paid  OptionNext to complete in house. Many companies filed litigation against OptionNext for misrepresentation and not fulfilling their obligation to process loan modifications. This affected the majority of loan modification companies working in good faith. This would cripple any company.

What are clients doing with the funds they had allocated for their monthly mortgage payment after they have been directed (Which is illegal and no legitimate company should direct a client not to pay their mortgage to a lender they would be expected to negotiate on behalf of client). If a client had a $2000 mortgage payment that they have been paying and stopped paying this payment for eight months where is the $16,000?

Now for full disclosure we own a local Arizona loan modification company and our contract states as is the industry standard that:

Our company is not a law firm and nothing in our contract constitutes a Attorney-Client relationship. That our company doesn't provide or offer a Foreclosure Rescue Service. We cannot save your home if it is in foreclosure and make no promises we can. Your lender holds the final decision in approving your loan modification and the length of time of this approval. Contact a Lawyer, accountant or certified financial advisor if your home is in foreclosure. We request no upfront fees and charge a flat fee after client has received a modification. We are a for profit company and are not affiliated with any city, state or federal agency.

The following are free services offered by city, state and federal agencies:

www.financialstability.gov     www.makinghomeaffordable.gov    www.azag/consumer/foreclosure/index.html    www.naca.com/refinanceTenStep.jsp

This is a standard disclosure for the State of Arizona approved by Attorney's. The new law in Arizona for loan modification servicers are subject to background checks and filing with the Arizona Finance Department.

The company Hope for Homeowners Now received a default judgement by Commissioner Jay Davis for $155,000 in civil penalties and must pay $424,935 in restitution to clients.

Now that should provide some relief for affected clients for Hope for Homeowners Now but also enlighten people of the many irresponsible homeowners  not being fiscally responsible. Not paying a mortgage payment for months and not having anything to show for it isn't excusable.
