Hotels.com Does not honor their price match guarantee. Phoenix, Arizona

I used Hotels.com to book a hotel room for a overnight stay.    Later the same day I found the same room and the same hotel for 21.00 less and went back to hotels.com filled out their price match form as directed.

I receive a return email saying they cannot match that price at this time.  After going back n forth with them over different things, it comes down to them saying they only match the nightly rate (before taxes and fees) which was the same price.   Booking through the hotel directly didnt have as many fee's basically and even though there is NOTHING in Hotels.com's price match guarantee stating that, they still will not honor the lower price.    

They actually came back and threw the reason that the room I am to get was sold out, nothing in their price match guarantee says anything about another room has to be available.  When I questioned them about that, then they switched to the price match only applied to the amount before the fee's.   So they switched reasons more than once to avoid giving me the difference back and now its too late to cancel with them and book through the hotel.

What a joke !!!
