On 26JAN2013 hotels.com was used to book a room with Atlantic Ocean Palm Inn for the dates of 14MAR2013 through 16MAR2013. Hotels.com represented the room as a "deluxe room" and charged an amount of $596.67 (taxes included). After paying the nonrefundable payment, the website for the motel was visited to obtain additional information. Out of curiosity, I looked at the room rates on their website. For the same room (through website description), the price there would be $483.58. Hotels.com states that they offer a price match guarantee so I contacted them to let the know of the discrepancy. I spoke with Sandy is CS and Carol S. (refused to give a last name) her manager. They stood by the price and stated that the rooms were not the same because hotels.com had labeled the room a deluxe room. Visiting the website for Atlantic Ocean Palm Inn reveals that there is no such room at the establishment known as a "deluxe room" and that they are, in fact, the same room. This practice by Hotels.com is deceitful practice and quite possibly fraud.
