I talked with some employees of the hotel and they agree that they are not located in the area that Hotwire claims. To make matters worse, the hotel has informed Hotwire they are not in the area that Hotwire advertises.
Hotwire lists the hotel as: "Back Bay Copley Square Hotel" and shows a location on the map. There is an actual "Back Bay Copley Square Hotel" at that location. Imagine the surprise when the reservation then gives you the Best Western 1.5 miles away. Hotwire's response was "that was a point of interest" on the map and not the actual location.
Unfortunately, this appears to be a pattern of practice for Hotwire. They have been unwilling to cancel my reservation at this time. Apparently, they would rather keep an unhappy customer once than have a good referral and happy customer for life.
