I have used Hotwire several times before and have been generally satisfied however this time the site and customer service have misrepresented what I was paying for. I booked a 3 Star hotel after having looked at the hotel chains in that category. All of them were nice hotels and known to NOT have exterior room entrances. When I received my confirmation for a 3 Star property it was for a Howard Johnsons. On the site, Howard Johnsons is listed in the 2 Star category. Not only that but this hotel has exterior doors like a motel. Customer service has been useless and rude. They have stated that this particular hotel is a 3 star hotel. How is that possible when it has all of the makings of a substandard motel including the exterior doors? I will NEVER use Hotwire again.

Hotwire specifically states right on the page where it shows what hotels fall within certain classes that it is not a conclusive list and that chains fall within more than one category and it depends on the individual property, not the chain as a whole. And so it had outdoor entrances, what is the big deal? Motel or hotel, does Hotwire state they do not sell motels? No. And not all motels are bad. This claim you have is not a ripoff.
