at its best!

I ordered a size 8, tea-length dress from House of Brides using the measurements that were posted on the website. The dress I received, although tagged as a size 8, was at best a size 4. It also dragged about 8-10 inches on the floor. There was absolutely no possiblity of my fitting in to the dress.

When I spoke to House of Brides about the dress, I was instructed to have a professional seamstress measure the dress which I did. She confirmed that the dress was a size 4 and possibly even a size 2. I sent the measurements back to House of Brides and was told that I could return the dress at my own expense.

10 days later I was notified by House of Brides that the dress sizing was not defective; that is was a size 8 and exactly as presented on the website. Therefore they would be returning the dress to me and I would not receive my money back.

House of Brides made no effort to exchange the dress for another size or another style. It took 3 months to get a dress that I couldn't use, had to replace with another dress, and certainly did not add to what should have been a time of enjoyment in preparing for my son's wedding.

AUTHOR: Resources - (U.S.A.)

Inspect your dress very carefully.  When I worked there the Alterations Manager was forced to sew on size tags to suit the size requested when they were unable to get the actual dress that the customer ordered.  They would just pull something off the rack and modify it which is totally illegal.  The Alterations Manager has a white plastic box full of various tags to use when forced to.

You may be another victim of the vendor's failure to release a dress due to Dale & Eva Buziecki's failure to pay the vendor.

Have your dress inspected by the vendor if at all possible.  Vendors do not condone tag changing.  All vendors are online and do offer contact information.

Good luck to you.  You may want to contact Channel 2 News in Chicago as it is rumored that they are doing an investigation on House of Brides.
