I don't know but I had heard a lot about Bank One and Household Bank, still unsure but I had set up an online account with them so then I would be able to make my payments a month ahead of time. If ya'll are looking at this and if you have been saying something bad about Capital One credit card, they're not that bad as they seem to be, I actually make my payments online with no extra hidden fees. Still being unsure, but I want to ask if any of you have any problems of making payments with Household and Bank One online banking. Thanks.

Household Bank "same day" payment

AUTHOR: Wj - (U.S.A.)

I had a credit account with household bank (They do most of their stuff with retailers, mine was CompUSA). On the website, they allow you to store your banking information, so that you can make a payment right at their site.
Many Credit cards allow you to make a same day payment withough penaly or late charges, not so with household. If you want to make a "same day" payment with them, they charge a $15 "Convenience fee" (The late fee is $20)

Not so with their own web site

AUTHOR: Margo - (U.S.A.)

The previous poster states that if you pay household via their own website, the payment will post the same day if made before 1 p.m.. NOT so. Whenever you enter a payment on HHB's site it takes two days for the payment to pull and post. There is even a warning on the site to this effect. I've been paying my bill this way since I've opened my account. I will admit that this is a much better way than taking a chance that your payment may lie on someone's desk before ever being opened.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Online Banking

AUTHOR: Wayne - (U.S.A.)

Tam,

If you are submitting your payment via an online system with Bank One to pay your Household credit card, then make sure it is being submitted electronically through a system called Checkfree.

At the present moment, not all banks can accept electronic payments through all sources. This will be mandatory within the next few years under the Check 21 system. If Bank One is not using an electronic system, they will submit it in the form of a paper check and mail it through the postal service.

My suggestion is to use Household's website. The online payments are free of charge. Be sure to set them up before 1:00 P.M. eastern time and they will post the next business day. Remember that online payments and electonically submitted payments will not apply to the account on a weekend or holiday. If you are still unsure if the payment will post, you should contact the E-commerce department for verification or further information.
