I used the card and got my first statement. the sameday I got the bill I paid it in full and mailed it back. on my next statement I had a late fee for the payment being late. After looking over the past statement and this statement I found that payment due date for both bills was up in 2 days from when I got the bill in the mail. I don't see how anyone could aviod a late fee with the way the billing is done.

I call the company and was told that the only way to avoid this without extra charges was buy giving them my bank number so they can just take it out of my checking each month as they WISH. I truly see the scam being done here and have had others that had the card tell me the same story. I got the card to build credit and they only allow me to do more damage to it by unavoidable late fees unless the get access to all your money in the bank.

I believe that the number you gave in your report is for Omaha Steaks, not Orchard Bank.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Hmmm...sounds strange

AUTHOR: Tam - (U.S.A.)

Dear J,

I see, but if you set up an online payment with them and they're saying that they need your bank account so they can withdraw your money from your checking account each month as they wish? Last time I check by law, they can only withdraw it with a certain amount if you authorize them within that month but if they're going to do it whenever they wish is a NO GO and basically, if they do, they can be in a lot of trouble for that because you didn't authorize them. Just like Capital One, when u make any payments to them online, they ask how much you want to pay them before you authorize them to make the transaction and plus, always print out a copy that you authorize so and so with so and so amount at so and so time and date, because if they do anything stupid, u can use that in court. But let me tell you one thing, its not always a good thing to sue them because somewhere down the line they'll try to find a way to sue you back as I was told by my big sis who's a lawyer. I just hope this helps.
