The sales rep estimated internet speeds at 10x dialup. The actual speed according to broadband reports was closer to 26 kbps--close to half of dialup. Typically, the service never worked. Okay fine, this service isn't for me.
All customer interfaces, technical and billing, are handled by overseas call centers and offer no help. They are not hughes net employees and have no authorization to offer real assistance in light of a technical issue or resolve billing issues.
Upon cancellation (within 30 days), the installation cost is non-refundable despite never having installed an operational service. Also, the period of service is non-refundable. Finally, they charged my credit card without authorization on another occasion for $318.00.
So far, approximately $460.00 for two weeks of non-working internet service.
